View Full Version : MODS at ATV FL.com hate polaris brand
Just venting here where I know I can speak my mind. Was on www.atvflorida.com last night on the forum.A member there started a thread asking for input on the Polaris Sportsman 500 line.I chimed in and said I thought the SP 500 was a great machine,my comment was a whole 2 sentences.Today to my surprise my post about the SP 500 was deleted by a MOD who doesnt like the polaris brand. What a low life,i'm glad I didnt contribute any money to thier forum.Again my two sentence post was deleted by a MOD who deleted it because he or she doesnt like the polaris brand.I'm going to tell the member who started the thread that they are more than welcome to come on this forum ans discuss polaris all he wants with out posts being deleted.I joined atvflorida after a few respected members encouraged me to join that forum,to have a post deleted by a mod because they dont like the polaris brand tells me all I need to know about how that place is run and well....no thanks...not for me anyhow.

I would send a message to an ADMINISTRATOR and ask them WHY your post was deleted.

TUrk, I dont know if thats really why they deleted your post, but I have come to find out that FL. is not really a big fan of Polaris. At C&R swamp cabage weekend, there is about 10,000 people there, and I can honestly say that I have seen maybe 15-25 polaris bikes. And I have only seen one other snorkeled polaris besides mine. Everytime I ride I usually hear some crap for riding a popo but I am normally driving right past their stuck bike, which is normally a honda.
Here what my post was replaced with...

Thats sure no way to run a forum succesfully IMPO and in my experiance. I wouldnt worry about it if you have this place to fall back on, besides, we dont discriminate against any brand, say what you want as long as there are no obvious personal attacks.

Let me guess, Ida_Mann drives a Hondon't, I mean a Honda. Wooooooaaaa, he's a GLOBAL moderator too !!!!!!! Well I'm a HIRED GUN, you want me to go shoot his ass for ya ????? What a pud knocker. Yea, tell the guy to come over here to the other side, the grass is alot greener over here and there is a wealth of Polaris info here.

That's a real shame Turk. This sport is supposed to be about having fun with your offroad toy and sharing the good times with like minded people. Brand isn't an issue. I see something good in all the atv brands and shortcomings too. That guy is a (cup half empty) type of person. Don't let it bother you. The world is full of em. Probably got spanked by a popo at 1 time and never got over it.

I'm going to speak up for the Honda guys here and say that all of us don't hate Polaris! I owned one once and I think the previous owner did not take care of it b/c I always had trouble out of it. Since then I have seen alot of popos with belt problems and I still thought that there was something not right about them.
I have since rode with a friend that has an 06 800 Sportsman and it sure is a nice bike. He has had some trouble out of the belt but he didn't take any steps to make it more "water ready" so its not the bikes fault! Thinking this way now has opened my eyes about Polaris (as well as other brands). All are good bikes, if they weren't they would not be in production! People that think the way the mod does are one sided and those people are hard to deal with. Polaris is a great machine, and I'm sure one day I will own another one, but I will find out how to make it the way I want it to be, so I won't be disappointed.

Thats what makes me so angry, that forum serves a purpose and I just think it's a shame coming from a moderator to single out a forum member because he or she doesnt like the brand of atv I own and doing that on a forum that is trying to educate people on atving and keep folks informed.I've been in the moderator and administrator seat before and I find that to be unacceptable from person in that position. That forum is extremely informative for florida riders and I will still read all the usefull info that place has to offer me but as for posting i'll keep it very limited if at all.

Oh well what can you do.Different strokes for different folks or should I say different 4 strokes for different folks.

Agreed! I love the polaris and I love my Rancher too. but to be honest, If I was going to buy a new atv today, it would be a polaris.
