I hope to have the battery charged up by tomorrow so I can get it outside and give this section a good wash, and then install some new sound ;)

I'll put up more picks as I get through the upgrades, got at least 3 more things to change on her ;)

Got the Muzzy's installed tonight, found out the air box lid wasnt on properly and the air box has a good amount of mud inside it, luckily the filter did a good job of keeping it out of the motor. Anyways, heres some more progress...

So what your saying is you were able to buy all this stuff and deduct it on your taxes as business expense? Pretty damn nifty..... I need to start up a ATV related business lol.

That sucks you already bought this setup though. Cain took the Looney Tuned duals, PC5 and auto tune off his RZR this week and have them all for sell. I think he's asking 800.00 for all of it.

Rubberdown
04-20-2011, 02:36 PM
That DOES suck. And yes, the ATV and RZR have every product we make on them, as well as some of the products we sell ie programmers, clutch kits etc, so they become a sales tool at rides, events and the like.... Truck and trailer are also required for this business, so they to are business expenses.

Hey Eric, keep an eye opened in your area for me for a duramax 4 door with lower miles, like 50,000 or less in good shape, might have to fly down to visit if a nice truck comes up within the next 2 months....

been told to steer clear of the ford diesels too many times lately so I figure I better get something else.
Seems they ALL have a good and a bad quality about them, dodge has the cummings, best power plant, but shitty tranny, ford has a decent tranny I hear, but the motor sucks, lots of head bolt and injector issues, GM seems to have the right balance of power and gearing as long as you dont hop it up with a huge HP chip or whatever, otherwise they are known to slip a lot, so not mods, just get in and drive the biotch.....

Rubberdown

"Bankrupt"
04-20-2011, 03:13 PM
Ford is good as long as you stick with the 7.3 or get a newer one with the 6.7

The 6.0 motor is not a bad engine but the main problems come from owners not keeping up with the oil changes. The injectors are oil fired and when you start slacking on oil changes you run into major problems. The 6.4 is better but still not perfect. The new 6.7 is much better but still not as tried and true as the 7.3

hampster_rancher
04-20-2011, 03:32 PM
so not mods, just get in and drive the biotch.....

BS I say! LOL. I left my Cummins alone for, oh, 8 hours before I had all my goodies ordered up for it! Driving a stock diesel is ok, any of them will pull like a mule, throw a programmer, intake and exhaust on them and they will pull like a pair of freight trains!! WAY more exciting!!

You still have to watch out for what year of D-Max or you could be dropping a couple G's on injectors...Just an FYI. And Don't go too new on any of them or you are going to be plagued with a shit load of emissions stuff which rob you of both power and fuel economy.

Bad Kitty
04-20-2011, 03:55 PM
U still have a few months from what I gather. I say, for the amount of money U have to spend, why not build yourself something that U need? Buy a body style that Melissa likes and build a motor, transfer case and tranny. Way cheaper and U can spend the money where U need the upgrades. Piece out the work. Be done in no time. Just a thought Cap'n, well spent money as well IMO anyhew. Lol

Getting off topic here, arn't we guys?? Oh well, Paul started it so i guess it's ok. Skip anything 07.5 and newer for any diesel ya go with. The new emmisions stuff is bullshit, and unless you want to put it back to stock every couple years for the sniffer test than skip them. Bottom line is, how much ya want to spend? 01-04.5 duramax have injector issues, but i bought mine cheaper figureing i may have to do them at some point, and that point came a year after buying it. $2000 for injectors and a day and a half labour and they were done and i dont have to worry about them. the newer ones still have some injector problems but they are alot easier to change. And with what you said earlier about the truck and trailer being business expences........spend $3000 to build the tranny and go make some power!! I'm keeping an eye out down south for myself but i'm looking a little higher mileage, i'll let you know if i see a good low mileage truck.

The ONLY thing dodge trucks have going for them is the cummins!

$20000 wont buy much of a diesel pickup unless it has tons of miles (down here anyways) seems like there are tons of nice trucks in the $30000 range

and if your going to buy a diesel the first thing i would do is add a programmer and some exhaust to help it breathe better you would be amazed on how much more power you can pull out of those things

You've had a lot of problems with all your Dodge trucks??

LMAO! Same problems every one else has. They are all junk, dont matter whats on the hood. There is no miracle truck. Its all just a matter of what you are willing to do to over come the short comings of the brand......... a tranny here, injectors there, head studs and gaskets over there.......... Kinda funny how all 3 have there issues, and the fixes all seem to cost about the same amount.
Drive 'em all Paulie, pick the one that is most comfortable for you and then jew the guy down $3000 so you have the money to fix its issue. LOL

Seriously though, they all have their issues, but dodges wiring and electronics lately scare the shit out of me. We've owned lots of dodges over the years and got lots of miles out of them before any breakdowns, the 2005 HEMI we have has 290,000 kms on it and it just blew a tranny but it goes in about 15 truck pulls a year and snow plows every winter.

800Stealth
05-07-2011, 07:12 AM
It's not realy the wet part that is going to throw off the oxygen sensor, it's that the water is cooling the sensor... O2 sensor won't be accurate if it drops below 600 degrees. Using a 4 wire heated sensor should help alot to keep it at operating temp even when submerged. Keeping it WFO when under water will help keep the exhaust gas temps high too lol

What difference did the secondary make?

Rubberdown
07-04-2011, 05:59 PM
it leaves the line a lot higher, and it ran great in the mud bogs before it ran out of fuel, but other than that, I'm the equivalent to being tone deaf when I add new mods, I dont notice them as much as most people do LOL

when using auto tune after it creates the tune you are actually supposed to remove it. It isn't designed to be in full time. but most people leave it in. Its like in the sleds if you leave the sensor in the 2 stroke exhaust screws them up rather fast.
