Im about too place an order for cams and High compression pistons. too put into my 09-tcat. Im staying with my stock cylinder(Not going big Bore). Im trying too decide on which pistons too install.

11:1 (pump Gas)
12:1 (race Gas)

How much of diffrence in preformance is there from the 11:1 too 12:1
if theres a huge diffrence in gains I probably will go 12:1 but if there isnt I would rather run 11:1 so I can just run pump gas.

where are you getting them, and why cant you run pump gas on the 12:1 pistons?

Speedwerx, on there site it say's 12:1 for race gas. I was told too run 110octane or higher if you want the 12:1. and 93octane with the 11:1

Im new too engine mods so mabey i got something confused?

Any higher than 11:1 and you will have detonation if you don't run high octane gas. Because of the high compression it would ignite the low octane fuel with compression alone kind of like a diesel.

Paul (Rubberdown) is a dealer for them and I am sure he can get you a deal on the parts you want. I would stick with the 11:1 because race gas around here is something like $14 a gallon and not something you find wile out on the trail. You also wouldn't see much of a benefit from the 12:1 with out supporting mods like head work and a dyno tune to take full advantage of the higher compression.

Some motors can run pump gas with 12:1 because they have very big cams and that lowers the cylinder pressure,but you need to be jetted spot on all the time. 11:1 with a good size cam is much more for giving and that's what I build because most customers want a lot more power,but with the reliability of a stocker.
