Jesus dude, can I come goose hunting with you some time.... I'm serious too!

I've never had the chance to go for ducks, geese, any waterfowl or game birds other than retarded partridge that pretty much hold stiff for you to make the shot LOL.

I have some deer pics, some partridge pics, but no bear or moose taken by me yet.

HA HA! Any time! Theres always room in the blind! You know how to reach me.
2 more weeks and we can have at 'em again. Limits back up to 8 with a posession of 24! WOO HOO!!
I mostly hunt geese, ducks are a bonus. One weeks vacation a year for deer, Sundays are for bow hunting and if I can find time...maybe an outing for pheasants.

I don't bird hunt but that's one beautiful lab in the back of the truck. I got a chocolate and the wife has a yellow lab.

Really? 2 more weeks and they are open again???? Tells you how much I know about bird hunting eh LOL. How long is the season opened for?

And hell ya, I'd love to go for a hunt. What are you guys using for shells? I have a Remington Express Super Magnum for the 3-1/2" shells but those things start to hurt after just a handfull of them LOL.

Okay, so all kidding aside, you guys let me know when you can fit a rookie in with you and I'll do my best to be there.

The late season is short this time of year...Feb 21 - 28, and then closes 'till Sept again.
As for shells, any old 3" steel BB will work just fine. Check Walmart or Crappy Tire, they usually have sales. I've got lots, you wouldn't need any.
3 1/2" are a little over kill, I've got a picture of what 3 1/2s do, but its a little graphic ( if you still want to see it, e-mail me ).
I'll let you know closer to the season, more birds are moving up by the day. You should be seeing a shit load your way.

If you guys are going on the 23rd or 24th, and you have room, let me know what I need to bring as far as camo goes, I only have what I wear when in the treestand with the crossbow so I hope thats good. What time of day do you go out for them, early EARLY AM or what?
What licence do I need to get for them, migratory game bird or something like that?

Thanks, as you can tell, i really am new to the bird game. I've shot clay pigeons once, 2 at a time wasnt happening, but singles every time....okay, most of the time LOL.

You've got enuff to Git er Dun!
Make sure that spinning wing decoy is OFF when the geese are coming in! They hate those things for some reason, Ducks Love 'em tho!
Make sure you mud your blind. Take a 5 gallon pail and mix a soupy mud up and then use an old broom to mop it on heavy. Let it dry and brush off the loose stuff. If you do only the one thing, that is a must! Your blind will reflect the sunshine if you don't.
Set your dekes in a loose 'V' with the blind at the back and fill your limit!
Check out http://canadianwigeon.proboards50.com/index.cgi for lots more info. Another great group of guys!

ok thanks, should i go ahead and get more dekes though?

I usually hunt over anywhere between 6 and 12 DOZEN full bodied, flocked headed decoys, but you really don't need that many in an area thats not pressured. The more people hunting your area, the more you need to make the geese think that there is safety in numbers. The other benefit is you get to know your UPS guy by his first name!

Never hunted geese or ducks. More of a woodman I guess. Taken 40 wild pigs and maybe 80-100 deer. Lost count. (LOL):wof: Lost count of all the money I've spent on it too.
