I know I read this on one of the forums somewhere, and now one of my customers needs to know what boots from what model year sportsman had the ribs spaced out slightly farther? Appearently, this causes less rubbing on the actual ribs so they dont wear through.

Thanks for any help guys!

Paul.

What about going thru Polaris's website and the parts catalouge and jsut checking old models part number against new models, you might get it that way.

i think the 700's and 800's boots are spread out farther then the 500's and 400's

I am pretty sure he is running an 800 stealth. I thought it was one of the older 400 or 500 models, like an 04 or something but I dont remember where I saw it?????

Brian, that would have part #'s, but not a picture of the part so it would be a crap shoot when ordering them, know what I mean...

I have about all of the Polaris ones laying here but I don't think I get the question, but normally front outboards have more spaced out ribs than the rear

CD, o n some of the years, or at least one of them, the ribs had a larger space between them which would cause less rubbing against each other when lifted to a steeper axle angle.

ok i know that the 800's and 700's have wider spacing in the front then the 500's and 400's. but the rear is the same.

Look here Paulyy... http://parts.polarisind.com/Browse/Browse.asp

I think your looking for the 05 700efi. their corners, and "pleats" are more rounded then others. compare an 05 to an 06 I think youll see what I mean.

I think you got it dude, thanks, I'll mention this to my customer and see if he can try an 05 700 boot instead of the 06 800 boot (I think thats what he has now)

Good work man, seriously, thanks....
