Ok I just spoke with the owner of the land. Jeff Hale is his name. This is on private property.
Right now he has a shallow pond that they 'play' in, but will be digging out a pit just for this event. Expected depth is the normal 28 to 36 inch depth.
All normal class breakdowns will happen, and if there is a big turnout, there very well could be cash payouts for the winners.
He's not set up online yet, so there's no website or email to go to...just the phone #'s that Faith posted.
He's mailing me a flyer which I'll be converting over to a .pdf document and sending out.
He said he's been getting lots of calls on this, so it should be a good turnout and a good time.

LOL guess you missed a post I had made a while back, but I'll explain it again.
With the 2 events that you've helped to make happen here at Atkinsons, along with the 3 or 4 up at Muddy13 that I'd like to attend also, and along with the other normal day and weekend trips that I also want to do here and there locally, I just couldn't justify burning the 6 vacation days along with all that money. I think this summer is going to go fast enough and be over before I know it.
If I win the Mega Lotto tonite, then perhaps things will change. ;)

I tell you what. Northwoods racing series- 12 events , few other BIG ones and Mud Nats. It is going to be a rough year for me too. I completely understand.

Glad you understand Vern. This is all new to me, and although I'm totally psyched about the Northwoods events I still want some normal playtime in. I forgot to mention that I'd like to maybe buy a bike for my girlfriend also this year, but that's all up in the air at this time.
But you sure are going to have one busy summer!!!

And another update on this MudMania fest...
I just was on the phone again with someone with more knowledge about the place (who knows who it was the first time...grandpa?) and they are REALLY ready to get some action going on down there.
They are offering anybody to come down and play and/or practice in these ponds and also has plenty of room for parking and primitive camping.
Email should be on the way soon from them, and the gal I spoke to said pictures will be taken next week. I guess they're going shopping for a camera real soon.

I just got another email from them, and yes they would love for us to come down to check it all out. Even would set us up in some camper/RV thing, although I said we would be ok with tenting it.
I think a road trip is in order very soon....or as soon as this friggin weather breaks. Only 3 hours down to their location.

Just got an email from Janet, the lady that is getting the event going.
She asked me how long it would take to build the pit, but since I don't know what kind of equipment she has I wasn't able to give her an answer.
But I did suggest to her maybe having some kind of 'work day/weekend' and give the volunteers some kind of perks.
I have heavy equipment experience so I already told her I'd be willing to take controls of whatever she has.

So sometime next month (earlier the better) this checkout ride down there just might have some work involved for us.

So for all of you here that is wanting to go down next month, what does your schedules look like? If Desi wants to go with me, it'll have to be on the weekends of the 8th or the 22nd when she doesn't have her kids, but I'm not sure if she even wants to go for sure.

We have been talking with them and it looks like this will be on our schedule as a preseason race for the 2008 Northwoods racing Series.. I guess I won't be making it down to Mud Nats either.
