I have always had a thing for guns. Back when I had money that is.

I was saving for a Ruger SR-22 to go shooting with my kid but then I found the Storm & was thinking the 9mm rounds are not that expensive either

I like the top one.

Yet the top one is the one I like the most.
Bottom on (FN) is a converted military gun & that means it is about 100% illegal in Canada & it takes custom ammo!

Hope to make it down south next weekend & have a good look at the Storm & Jr. Both are in stock at EPPS (http://www.ellwoodepps.com/)

Added the pics of the other two guns

I have a Hi-Point 9mm carbine that's somewhat similar in style to those. I just looked on their site, but it doesn't show older models. I got mine in around 2000 or so for less than $200.

WOW that is a good deal! A used CX4 goes for $900+ here.

Well I wouldn't trust it too far in a firefight, but it's ok for plinkin. All depends on your wallet, yanno?

LOL Not too many gun fights around here!
Mostly wanted something cool for plinkin & home defense. Not that I have ever needed anything before.
Home defense makes for a good solid case when I put it to the wife as to why I need it!
* It's because I love you hun! That's why i need a new gun...*

Yeah it's never misfired or jammed up on me even though I haven't maintained it very often.

the beretta storms are pretty good, but for the cost i would get a Highpoint.

OK so im basically limited to the JR Carbine unless I want to have a custom 18"+ barrel made for the storm. That is the only way I can have one that is non restricted & can only be shot in a club.
So now i have to decide what caliber to go with. 9mm, 40 or 45.
Im leaning to to the 9mm because the ammo is cheap & easy to find locally. & really what am I going to hunt with the Jr? So the ammo choice is kind of a moot point as power goes now that I think about it.

The other non restricted toy I just found is the Tavor 21 or T.A.R. for the civilian version. At $3300 Canadian it is WAY out of my price range.

what about a Ar 15 in a 223

Riven

The AR is restricted right?
I want the restricted look without the BS. I still have my restricted license but dont want to have to run to a club to go shooting with my kids.

Ar 15 is none restricted

Any AR/M4 type rifle is restricted. No way around it.
I did find out the Beretta CX4 comes in a non restricted long barrel offering now. But costs $1200

I was saving for a JR Carbine but after talking to the gun guys at EPPS i have changed my mind.
Seams they get MANY returns & malfunctions with the JR. Many feed issues.

Look into a Sig 556 or 522.

Just bought the 522 for myself for Christmas. Sweet shooting gun and it won't cost a arm and a leg for it either.

Ar 15 is none restricted

No its not, got a buddy that makes them, yes he makes them, has all the proper documentation to make and serialize them and sell them, he makes a sweet one too, and yes they are all restricted as far as he explains it to me.

That exactly what I want for mine, just can't get high cap mags in Canada.
Have you looked into the sierrapapa trigger up grade?

If you ever find your self with a couple extra 20 round mags I would be more than happy to take them off you hands.:thumb::rockon::hail:
