Hay Paul the wife & I are just wondering what days you guys usually ride on the long weekend is September.
Is it usually the Saturday & Sunday?
If Diana is going to come along again she needs to book it off now, & that’s if they will even give her a long weekend off.
I should have the Bi/Tri's mounted by then & really want to get in on that mud run you guys did the second day last year.

ya buddy, its the sat. and sun, of the labor day long weekend. We head out around 10am both days, but the second day, after the ride is when we play in 5 mile swamp....I lost half a floor board in there last year :(

Hmmmm if i can only swing one day it might have to be the sunday. hehehe
That way i could ride with the wife & then drop her at the camp & go play in the mud with the big boys.
How long does 5 mile swamp usually take to go through?

Getting onto the bridge gets harder and harder every year, we had one guy to the nestea plunge last year on a honda, but hey, it only had 1 front tire gripping anything LOL.
You can see just how high of a step up it is in the one pic here...

How the hell does the first bike get up their to winch the others?
Do you all pick the smalles one up & set it on the bridge;)
Actually from what i have seen 1 hr does not sound that bad.
With the new rubber on the way I really want to give this a try & i have a new set of chest waders just itching to get out of the box.

LOL, winches...WINCHES, not for that bridge, no way, that would be too easy LOL :D
No, we get a couple guys up on there first, then as the bikes are starting to climb up the edge, we sort of hang on and pull them up by hand. BUT, remember, I told you it has gotten worse every year, I'm sure this time it will either be hell, or Ken will have taken some logs over to make it a little safer....

After this past weekend bmdjmd was real interested in coming back up for a ride & I mentioned this weekend to him. I can only guess that after he gets a look at those pics he & his MST will be more than ready to give it a go as well.
Yes a couple of logs don’t sound like such a bad idea. Just to make it a bit safer fro all riders.
Its a real accomplishment to get up it from the looks but is the risk worth it?

Let me talk to the hosts of the weekend and I'll make sure its okay, I know they had a lot of people show up last year that they were not expecting so just let me clear it with them first.
We had a few yami's last year, they tried to follow me around the doc and well...um...they did what they all do, they didnt make it ;)
Snorkles are not required, I'm the only one that had them if I'm not mistaken.

Its not called weak its called WHIPED. http://www.mudhole.ca/images/smiles/2up.gif
Meaning I have a nice new CLEAN car & my wife will kill me if I get it dirty.
That & I have to do my own laundry if I get it dirty from riding.
Me & the wash machine don’t get along all that well.
I hope they don’t mind us bugging to come, but we kinda got hooked after that view from the lookout last year.

Sucks that you cant make it buddy, its a good weekend all around. You should try and get it (your machine) fixed and come up for the entire weekend man, you wont regret it, and the kids will have fun swimming, playing with all the other little rug rats etc etc...

I borrowed the idea I used from some good guys I know on here, and then I made all the mounts and used some pool vaccumm hose for the snorkel hoses. I'll try to have pics up later tonight, going to get started right now, ttyl.

how did you seal the air box ???
Riven
08-28-2007, 09:02 PM
Im not snorkeled yet but to seal my air box i pulled the gasket & replaced the it with a healthy amount of silicone. Dont forget to spray both surfaces where the gasket would sit, the lid & box with a silicone spray or pam or anything that wont let the calking stick to the box. re-assemble without the gasket & let it cure & you are ready to go.
The Pam or what ever helps you pull the lid off when its time to clean or replace your filter.
Rubberdown
08-29-2007, 10:35 AM
So did you spray the pam.
on the lid and the box and then put the silicon just on the groove on the lid? Then did you let it sit with the lid ON or OFF the air box? I want to do mine, I have use a bead of greese before but thats a mess to deal with LOL.
Riven
08-29-2007, 11:38 AM
I used silicone mold release spray on both sides, put a good amount of silicone on just the lid side & put it all back to gether & let it sit for the night.
It seams to be working good but i have not spent any long amount of time in deep water to know for sure. It cant be any worse than the stock gasket was. LOL
