Here are the pics I was hoping to get posted a few months ago but never got around to it.
Anyways, I figured I would take some pics because I thought it could clarify some things for some people, that arent maybe mechanically inclined. I know before I started working on my bike I never really new exactly what a cage was and how it worked and what not. I'm sure most of you know more about this stuff then I do, but I figured I would post just to give others an idea of what stuff was when things break and arent taken care of properly.

So here are some pics of my broke axles (the outer joints) The one pic of the big nut and washer and stuff are my spacers that I use to remove the ball joints.
The last pic is a shatttered front wheel bearing, w/ out the casing because it was still stuck in the strut hub.

Here are the pics of the front differential closed and apart with the cage removed all the little cylinder bars laying inside the diff. are the rollers which fit in the slots on the side of the cage. Then there are some close up pics of the cage.

Here is the new wheel bearing inside the strut w/ circlip installed.
The others are pics of the old and new ball joints in and out of the strut.

Here is a comparison of what the old bearings should look like.
ANd pics of the bike all torn down in the front, and then put back together sitting over a 5gal. bucket.
ANd last but not least, I took a beautiful pic of my RUBBERDOWN front ranger lift spacer.
AND I AM DONE.

Thanks for posting those Mike.
Sometimes we're lacking on the technical stuff here on the forum, so I'm sure these will help folks out.

hey mudsportsman05 i just got my all balls ball joiny in today and i notice that there is no hole in the bottom of it like there is in the stock one. are you able to grease the ball joint without that hole being there?

Hole? I didnt even notice a hole in the bottom of my stock one. But yes mine to grease just fine.
Someone was talking about the ball joints being different on the newer ones or something like that. hmm...

ya that was me. you can't get ball joints from polaris for 2006 and older now. so i ordered a all balls one. the stock one has a little 1/8 hole right in the middle on the bottom so grease will go into the joint. but the all balls one does not. but it look like there is little cracks for the grease to get into the joint. and if you can grease it, it must work then.

ok well i got the all balls one in and tested it to see if i could grease it and no go. the only thing i am doing when i put grease in the nipple is pushing the ball joint out of the strut. so i am going to call the dealer where i bought my bike which is about an hour from me and see if he has any of the older style ones in stock and get him to ship it to me.

thats crazy. SO is this because of the ball joint or because of the way your strut is set up? Mine took grease when I did mine.

i am pretty sure its the joint. once you put it in the strut and then add grease there is no way for the grease to get past to bottom of the sleeve and get to the actual ball. on the other side i have an exact replacement stock one that my dealer had in stock and it greases perfect. i just got to wait till this other dealer opens and give them a call.

its all good now. i found one of the exact replacement ones down the road at the dealer 30 minutes from me.

well i got the joint and it is one of the newer styles. the service guy says he uses them. so what i did was grind a little notch in the bottom of the joint so that grease could get into the ball. got her back together and am ready to ride.
