I went up against 19 other guys, so out of 20 total competitors, I finished 5th over all. I would have liked top 3 but being that I have been lucky to get to the gym 2 times a week in the last 8 months, I think I did pretty good.

Heres some pics and how I did...

Axle dead lift is a 2" bar instead of the regular gym bar that is around 1 to 1-1/4" so its obviously a lot harder to get a grip on, AND it has ZERO flex to it, meaning it aint bending at all to get you a couple inches advantage before the weight leaves the ground. The total weight was 394 pounds and we had to rep it as many times as possible in 1 minute. I got 24 good reps and tied for 6th place in this event, the guy I tied with finished 2nd overall for the day, what a big mother of a guy, he was 305 pounds compared to my little 240 out of shape ass. A couple guys didnt get a single rep and the highest reps was 31 by the forst place overall finisher and he tied another skinny 175 pounder on this event.

That event kicked the shit out of me so my next event, also my all time worst event was the log press for reps and it weighed 190 pounds, again, 1 minute to get as many locked out reps as possible. I only got 3 good reps, I had a few that didnt lock out therefore they did not count. Again, lots of guys got between 0 reps and 1 rep. The best finish was the big boy that I tied in the previous event with 15 reps I think, very impressive lift on his part.

Next up was one of my favorite events, its called the farmers walk. With 195 pounds in EACH hand we had to walk 75 feet, turn around a pylon, and then walk back 75 feet as fast as possible. I got it finished without dropping or setting it down once in 30.33 seconds for a 4th or 5th place finish in that event. I thought I did better but I dont have the stop watch, I just know I was almost running on the last 75 foot stretch. The 2 guys directly in front of me had me by less than a second and the first place in this event was 22 seconds, he was frikkin motoring LOL. The only pic of this I have is the starting line, the wife was running next to me and didnt get another good picture. Its okay though, this was a pretty light farmers for me, I have done a lot heavier...

Last event of the day was the tire flip, it was a 700 pound tire that had to be flipped 75 feet as fast as you could in under 90 seconds, if you didnt get the full 75 feet, it was measured as a distance where you stopped at 90 seconds. Only 4 of us got a full flip, my last flip wasnt going top make it, but on the tip up, the corner of the tire crossed the line, I got 4th on this event, again, only by a split second

Thanks buddy, we had a guy from Ottawa today, I drove from the Falls to woodstock so thats almost 2 hours, some from Toronto, not too far, but not all too close together either.

I've been in one in Dunnville and there were guys from Boston, Buffalo NY, Toronto, Fredonia NY and I think even a few guys from Maine and a guy from New Liskerd came all the way down once.

Oh ya, I have a tire thats around 700 pounds now to train with, that and some Farmers Walk bars, a steel log, a 220 pound atlas stone with more hopefully in a month or so up to 260 pounds and a couple harness's for towing trucks or busses LOL. I basically almost have enough stuff to hold my own competition at the gym I go to, the owner and I are seriously considering putting on an event for the end of this season.

All i can say is if i have the new rubber by then I might have a large problem with the " More balls than brains" syndrome.

Even a popo needa a pull once in a while:mad: Atleast its not as often as all those 3 wheel drive bikes out their.

Thanks, ya i am really sore now 2 days after. If I sit for a few minutes, it takes me a few steps to get up to a comfortable speed LOL. My knees, left ankle and foot, and lower back are really sore, and my forearms feel like they want to tighten up and lock my hands in place LOL.
