OK, here is a list of common part numbers for Polaris Sportsmans. I have found this info on the web and its not my creation. It has been compiled from various web sites and I believe the part numbers to be correct. Double check the numbers before using on your machine. If I missed any part numbers please let me know. If you can add additional parts that are interchangeable, please post them. With everyones help, this site can be the best on the web. Thanks, Donut Slayer.

The IX addition should also give an Iridium plug # for the other bikes as well.

It was time for me to replace my front and rear diff seals for my axles. I bit the bullet and purchased Polaris ones. I then took them down to my local seal and bearing shop, Miller Bearing. The guy at the counter measured them and found matches for the front and rear axle seals and the front shaft seal. I didn't have a rear shaft seal with me. The seals are Chicago Rawhide and the part #'s are: Rear axle- 19630 @ $7.14, Front axle- 692461 @ $4.53 and Front shaft- 692321 @ $ 4.04. I forgot to ask if they were single, double or triple lip seal. As for the flat lipped o-rings for the front that were in the seal kit from polaris, I was refered to a local hydralic shop. I was told there they could probably match up those, but would have better luck if I were to bring in the case so they could get a more accurate measurement off the groove in the case. I haven't got a chance to place these next to the Polaris seals yet to compare, but I hope to soon. If they are the same, what a savings. I should also mention this is for my 04' SP700. I hope to get these next week to compare to my PoPo seals.

I got the seals today, matched them up at the counter with the parts guy. They're a match. Only one difference is they are single lip not triple. I ask him straight up "Will this make a difference"? He stated that the specs from Chicago Rawhide say the single one is equal. I asked him why the Polaris ones are triple, and he said he believes it's just an extra dust seal. If I get time next week I'm going to tear into my diffs and replace the seals. I'm going to go with the Chicago ones first to give them a try. If them don't work out I'll still have the Polaris ones in reserve. Cross you fingers we might have another $$$ saver.

Purolator ML16817
Here locally the only place selling the Purolator filters is Advanced Auto Parts. They do not stock the ML16817 but can order it for 16.88. I bought a Fram at Wal Mart for 5.88 instead.
Anyone using the Purolator ML16817?
If so where do you buy and how much do you pay?
Thanks
Robert
I use it and bought mine at advance auto parts and they sell them here for just under $6.00 (us funds)
I've been looking to see if there any air filters that cross reference the polaris filters. Will report any findings.
not to hijack but for air filters why don't you switch to a foam filter, does a good job blocking out dirt as well as water and its reusable.
I've considered the foam filters as well the K&N filters,I use K&N filters in two of my vehicles and would love to use one in the polaris as well but...What i'm saying is being that I have a carbed machine i'm trying to avoid having to re-jet for a custom filter right now, anyway at least until I learn exactly how to re-jet.Hell first I better learn how to intstall the RD 2" front lift that I bought and is still on my "things to put on the popo" shelf"....(sigh).

Well I finally got to the fronts seals last weekend and they went in great. Haven't had a chance to do the rears yet. After that I'll give them a trail test to see if they perform as good as the OEM's.

Just a filter change you won't need to rejet
Stupid me should of know that, dunno what I was thinking.I must have been thinking about adding a K&N filter and a snorkel.I'm going to stick with the stock paper filter replacement for now.If just a adding a K&N filter alone doesnt really have any performance benefits wont get one until it calls for it.

Okay, I have parts manuals on my PC for a lot of the machines but not all of them, heres a polaris part # for oil filters for the ones that match my amsoil filters. The machines I checked, these are the same,
2000 Magnum 500
04 mag. 330
04 400 sportsman
04 500 sportsman
05 400 sportsman
Polaris # is 3084963
If you use that polaris filter, you can use this Amsoil filter,
Part # EaOM103
and a chrome oil filter (looks pretty sweet, thats what I just put on, is part # EaOM103C
I think I paid around $18 Canadian for the black one and $20 Canadian for the chrome one.
I noticed that NONE of the twins used this part # that I had manuals for.
fram oil filter for single cylinder is PH6017A and is $9.99 at canadian tire.

I finally had a chance to do a good ride test on the Chicago Rawhide seals I matched to the Polaris front and rear differential seals. I just returned from a trip to Wallace, ID. We did 4 days of riding in the mountians including some snow. We averaged 50-70 miles daily. The seals have held up so far. The real test will be when I start hitting the mud and water holes back here at home. That stuff seems to find any flaws if they exist.

I've considered the foam filters as well the K&N..
I actually have the K&N in my 02' 400....Is there an advantage to using the UNI Filter over the K&N???? I noticed most of you are using it!
Would like to at least try one if its an advantage...need all the help i can get with that little ol 400.
Best place to buy in US?
ALSO......Do any of you use the pre-filter over the K&N or do you just run it straight?
Thanks!

I run a K&N with the pre-filter. It does stop lots of bigger crap for getting to the filter. My stock one had one from new so i figure the K&N should have one as well.

I've read that the Unifilter stops more dust and sand if you're running dunes etc. The K&N gives a little more air flow. Run a prefilter with either one.

Good to see the "common numbers" thread here. I started it at HL. Has saved me money a frustration, especially out on rides needing something and being able to go to town and get enough parts to get back in the game.
The last time a couple weeks ago was a broken prop shaft u joint. I looked at my laminated sheet of numbers that is always in my truck and had a u joint in less than a hour, had it installed in a couple more. Without the list it would have been a wasted weekend.
Well then you had a GREAT idea over there, and without it, this one might not have started either, so thank you sir, and welcome to the forum ;)

Have you looked at DDMtuning.com kits? I hear they have good prices and are plug--n-play.

No but I've bought from VVME before and they still have a huge selection.
9004 rings a bell though after looking around there.
Oops I was replying to Con there on the HID's up above.

Tell them it's a US Napa part number and they can look it up in their computer. the local one here did that for me.
