Who among us, has taken a ATV riding course? And who put it on? I'm a deputy sheriff and since we've had hurricanes Ivan, Dennis, and Katrina, ATV's were just about the only reliable transportation just after the storms. I used mine for work, rescue and road clearing. Anyway, my point is since I hadent taken a Law Enforcement ATV course, I wasnt supposed to ride mine or my dept's ATV's(ssshhh dont tell them). I took the course about a month ago when It was finally available. It was fun, but I really didnt learn anything new from the course except how to ride them FAST. Ya see, my popo usually stays in low and I dont get faster than 20 mph cause I use mine like a tank and go thru stuff instead of around stuff. (thats what popo's are for right?) Anyway my dept uses Suzuki's and let me tell you, I'll use my popo anyday over the suki. I'm not bashing here, just my opinion. I was just curious what a reg ATV course has in it. We had to do a solom course, low and hi speed turns, hi speed evasive manuvers, hill climbing, steep angle transverseing, emergency braking, ect. Anyway, I dont know why, but them suki's (400 and 500's) just couldnt keep up with my 700 popo. They wouldnt let me lead cause they all said I kicked up too much dirt. Sorry for the long rant. Rudy.

Thats about it. Safety stuff , the basics of starting stopping and turning. You can't teach common sence to anyone , no matter how hard you try.
