on both of my new ATV's all I had done was a fluid change I think for a first service, my dealer said not to worry about the valve adjustment....

ive never had to adjust the valves on either of mine.
maybe they did something different with the RZR than the sportsman. i would read up in the owners manual and see what it says. it should give you a run down on what needs to be done at what time/miles/hours.
At my first service the dealer changed all fluids and they checked the valves just to make sure they didnt need an adjustment, they said the valves were fine.
Valve on most popo's stay in spec for a long time, hardly ever does one need adjusted within the 1st service.

thats what i was thinking..
sound slike somebody wanted a little extra cash for service not needed.
Everything in your first service should be included in the price.I didnt pay for my first service because when I bought the popo I got the first service free,it was part of my deal. Now I service it my self.
depends on the dealer, I run an independent service shop and I still do a lot of first service and then regular interval service. I will tell you that of all the engine work I do, Polaris is not the most of it generally, It might surprise you at what I work on most. I do a good bit of Polaris but just not many engines in them, normally bearings, cv's, hubs, occasional tranny, etc.
I'll admit that if it's something I cant handle fixing i'll take it straight to the dealer.Internal engine work is out of my league so if that be my problem it would go to the dealer.I lucked out and was able to negotiate my first service for free otherwise the first service at the dealer I bought it at was going to be about $200.00.

Your RZR has a pushrod motor so you don't adjust the valves.

Them Idiots...We have bought 3 machines from there...They charged me that on the sportsman 800 too ....Same motor...That will make you want to call them and tell them what they can do with there place right there....I might not never buy anything from there again....
