Okay, so I'm gonna put it on a slight angle, like less than 40 degrees and have the fan on the front of it, but wont that be kinda ass backwards as far as air flow goes?
Next????
My fill cap on my rad is right on the top dead center and if I put the rad on the rack like it is down below but on that angle, should I make it swivel at the bottm like on a hinge to hold it upright for filling, burping and cheacking levels?
Lastly, what the hell happens if the cap blows off, it will be aimed right at my face LOL, and according to my wife, I'm still kinda handsome so I dont want to ruin what I might still have left :D ...

my fan is pulling air in reverse from what the factory flow was and it dont change a thing. pulling air in and cooling is all that matters. the radiator wont know which way the air is flowing. plus, it makes for a awesome body/face warmer when it gets cold outside. people always flock to my bike when its cold so they can warm up off my fan and radiator.
as for filling, you can use a 20 oz coke bottle. they fit prefectly into the rad fill hole. and all you would need to do is fill it up. im sure your bike has a overflow bottle right? the radiator will continue to fill itself (if its not full) from the overflow. ive did radiator work on mine and got it 2/3 full them put the cap on and used the overfow bottle to fill it the rest of the way.
as for the cap.... never thought of that. all my bikes (all 700's) have the cap located remotely from the radiator. they are all located in the same place abut 13=14" away from the radiator on the bottom hose.
if nothing else, drill a small hole into the cap where the piece sticks out to grip on. get a small piece os wire or that tiny chain and make a lanyard for the cap. that would serve 2 purposes. it would keep you from ever loosing the cap and if it ever did fly off the wire/chain would act as a hold down to keep it from hitting you.
but you would still have to worry about the scalding hot fluid pointed at your face. best bet would to be make a small deflection shield between you and the fill neck. it wouldnt have to be big. just enough to direct it away from your face. ive never seen or had a cap blow off before but a ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

First you wife doesn't alway tell the truth. HeHeHe It works best to fill it you guessed. Leave it loose and tip it up to fill as much as possible.

paul. when i di my 700 efi, the rad was almost flat on the front box, was 1/4 inch higher in the back(closest to the pod) and had about 1/2 inch clearanse between the bottom of the rad and front box lid, as long as the rad cap is higher than the rad then you should have no problems. ranm it like that and never had overheating problems, plus, i could still use my light pod. the fan was mounted on top.
take a look at my sig for a couple pics, also the front lid was fully functional

See, I liie that setup Scott, but how did you extend the fill hole and cap?
I was thinking I could go almost flat as well and the make it so it hinges up for filling and checking???

what did you do to the headlight pod?
looks like you raised it up 8 or so inches.

as fat the pod, simply get some poly spacers whatever lenght you need, and 4 longer bolts, (i think i used threaded rod) and space the pod up, raised it up about 2"
paul, i did not extent the fill , thats was as short as i could make it, the factory fittings are kinda long, i did spend some time behind the counter at more than a few parts stores to get the right bends in the hoses

Thanks Scott, looks like I'll have time to re-do the snorks this week but not likely enough time to move the rad, I would hate to be part way done and hit a snag and be screwed for my weekend away....we'll see though LOL.
