Went to Busco today to watch some mud bogs. It was total chaos. There were so many atvs, trucks, sxs's, dirt bikes, etc. cruisin around that it turned the entire area into one giant dust bowl. Busco is all sand that has been ground down to a talcum powder consistency. Plus it was 100 degrees at my house and hotter at Busco. I ended up leaving around 12:30 cause the dust was too much. Didn't see any races. Didn't get many pics but did get to meet Geonc and his wife. Great people. Wanted to stay and ride but it was to much pandemonium and the dust was so incredibly thick around the bog that you choked on it.

Here's a few more. I'll get the vid up later (after my nap). The 4th pic is a shot of the search and rescue guys. They use popo's. The temp was in the shade. Feel like I'm back in Dallas.

Nice pics! I can't believe the amount of dust in the air, that's just insane.

Well at least you got to meet George and his wife.
What's up with these temps anyway? Seems like it went from late winter/early spring temps to instant summer in lots of places, including IL.
Just too bad you didn't get to see more action while you were there.

I'm glad I couldn't make that race.

Instead, I mowed around the house for 6 hours, then trimed some trees and hauld that out in the back 40. Then I did several hours of weedeating. All in 95 degree heat. LOL

Now I think I'll go out to the front yard and fish for a bit.

Thanks for the pics, and sorry you couldn't stay for the races.

I tried to stay, believe me. Parked at the finish line end of the pit and sat for 30 minutes waiting for the races to start. The way it was set up, that was the only place you could get to and park your atv. It was also right off the drag strip and the kids just kept coming by on dirt bikes and atv's. And what do kids with loud pipes like to do every chance they get? Why they really like to burp the throttle and kick it sideways or do a little donut in the sand. Of course we were downwind of all the sand and dust they kicked up. I lost my patience and said f**k it 5 minutes before the first heat. I was even afraid to get out the video camera because of the dust. And of course my bike decided it was a good time to act up. Ran hot, didn't want to start after shutting it off, and (I just discovered this) when running the fan which I just left on the whole time I rode........the ignition switch acted wierd......wouldn't shut off right away. Duplicated it today after getting home from the car wash. With the fan switch on it continued to run. Turned the key back and forth 3 times with no effect. Shut off the fan and it worked! WTF! Sorry guys. I really wanted to get some pics and vids of the races to upload but I just couldn't deal with the dust.

Sheesh, what a day you had.
I assume some wire is crossed in your fan switch hookups?

I don't think so. I followed the instructions to the letter but I will tear into it this week and double check everything. The fan switch was an easy install. Yesterday it would shut off with the fan on but there was a 3-4 second delay. We'll see.

HI BOB! It was great putting a face to a name! Bob rode with us about 1/2 hr till one of our crew needed a run back to camp and get a bandanna to cover his mouth---the dust was just brutal! We were trying to head down by the river where a canopy of trees shades the trails and the dust is at a mininmum...

We will meet and ride again Bob!

Sorry about getting sidetracked when we stopped...the rest of the herd had machine issues..and another bud had dislocated his shoulder so his gal needed help breaking down the pop up camper... ..the price you pay when riding 20+ strong--sorry...

The sad thing was the rest decided to hang back and we went to try and find Bob but like he said...a chitload of riders for sure!

We watch a bit of fri nite's races...way too disorganised---for whatever reason.
LOTSA crying about false starts that caused quite a few arguments between the riders and officials that led to too many re-starts.....they were using a std drag tree and if memory serves---you drop the hammer on the last yellow so ??????

Altho I will say POPO purly dominated in all classes except for pro open where a turbo'd / on spray Renegade {Can Am} won.

I did manage to get some pics some of the race and machines and some of me in the front pond and running the Gauntlet...it was down a bit but still a bastid getting over that root!

Wife took a vid of me in the gauntlet...gotts edit it down tho...took me 23 minutes LOL

I need to get some pics loaded up.... missed a great shot or vid of me winching a new CanAm Outty from the 50-50 hole...he rolled it and dunked the snorks...one of his friends jumped in to up right it and he was down deep to his neck in mudd.....a missed photo op for sure!

again, great meeting you Bob!
