buy the epi boots. dont get the ones from gorilla to fit a stock axle. they are the exact same thing. gorilla just wants 2x as much.

the only aftermarket boots for rear stock axles are the rockford ones gorilla/epi and most everybody sells.

they are pretty good and are a bit longer than factory so there not stretched as far as a factory boot when you have a lift kit.

The type your looking for would be about $20 a kit + ship through me, all rear cv boots would be 4 kits.

Clubin, what kind of boots do you have on the front that are indestructable ??? I need some whatever they are. I use the Gorilla boots for the stock axles and the rears have been absolutely great, my rears are just about indestructable but damn my front INNER boots are ripping like crazy. Every time I turn around I'm ripping, tearing, or poking holes through these boots, more holes poked than tears. I've had good luck with the Gorilla boots for stock axles and they're only $19.95 each.

I'd consider using CD Clubin, he has been a good dealer for me so far ;)

dirtbmw, on the newer boots they have a multi bellow boot which is like all the other boots but has 1 or 2 extra bellows, you should already have these for your front inboard, I just went out to the shop and looked at a 500 x2 and it has about 6 bellows on the front inboard boot, I would expect the outer boot to rip more due to turning than the inner as the inner doesn't flex near as much. These boots are kinda new and I would have to drop ship them as they aren't a stocking item yet, should be stocking them by mid-September. thanks ps. these are heavier than stock

CD, I'll have to look when I get home but I know for a fact that my front INNER boot doesn't have 6 bellows on it. I have stock boots on my right side axle and I have gorilla boots on my left side axle. I'm not having problems with my front outer boots at all, ONLY my front inners for the time being. You happen to have any pics of this new boot you are referring to ???

Ok, I did some research for you, in 05 the stock boot had a big gap between two of the bellows, Polaris came back later and changed it so that it is solid bellows with no space to allow greater flex (at an angle as well as on the plunge), my boot supplier changed theirs much the same way, the boot that was originally on there was pretty much an outboard boot, not made to flex in and out like needed for a plunge joint, If you want any I can have them shipped from the factory since I don't carry them yet. the multi bellow I spoke of is on newer models.

OK, I understand what you are referring to. My right side axle still has the stock boots and my inner boot has the space between the bellows like you are referring to. Now my Gorilla boots don't have that space between the bellows, their boots have solid rows of bellows.

I'll take a pic of a stock replacement Gorilla boot tonight when I get home for the front inner. I don't have a stock OE boot to take a pic of other than the one already on the bike on the other side.

How do you like to be payed?
What type of clamps are used on the boots?
These you talk about are thermoplastic boots.
Let me know.
Thanks

My boots are thermoplastic, the bands are either band-it style (windup) or crimp type, since your out of the country I would just take payment through paypal. What machine exactly to you need them for and what placement?

Here are some pics of the boots I have. They DEFINITELY don't have six bellows on them, CD... if you got some front inners with six bellows on them, I just might be interested. Check out the pics. The firts pic is of a Gorilla boot for the stock axle, it is a front inner boot. I only see three bellows on it, correct me if I'm wrong CD.

Here is a pic of the right side axle, inner boot, it is the stock OE boot that has the gap between the bellows.

Here is a pic of the left side axle, inner boot, it is a Gorilla stock replacement, notice no gap between the bellows but definitely not six bellows either. It is the same exact boot that is pictured in the first pic, this one is just on the bike.

And here is a pic of the boot still on the axle that came off the bike. You can tell it is a stock OE boot. I don't know if you can tell by the pic but I can tell just by looking at it that it's not torn or ripped, that is definitely a puncture, the real dead give away was the 1/2" diameter stick that I pulled out of the boot.

thanks for the pics, as I stated earlier my brain was confused and the 5-6 bellows are on newer ones, the stock boot is what they came with and the one on the gorilla is what they came out with later to replace it, thats also what much of the aftermarket uses. There are inners with more bellows but I will have to get some to see if they will fit.

The "newer" ones with the 5-6 bellows won't fit on my 2005 axles ???

whats the name on those stock gorilla boots dirt?

i bought alot of the rockford boots and had good luck with them. i was getting them for pretty cheap from a friend of mine who owns a shop and they lasted alot longer than a factory boot.

the gorilla boots they put on their gorilla axles must be made from kevlar or something. ive only busted 1 and it was because the front factory boot guard got folded in and cut it like a knife. havent had a rear one go yet.

Eric, there is no name what-so-ever on these boots, only a 5 digit number that was totally irrevelant to any part number cross reference I could find and with me being in the automotive parts business for over 28 years I got a shit load of cross reference books and with still being in the business I got friends all over the place that checked for me too, my buddies at Napa couldn't get it to cross over to anything either. When it stops raining I'll go in the garage for you and get the numbers off it.

Pic of the number on the stock Gorilla boot. 86422 for those that can't see it.
