Every year for the last 5 years I have gone to a friends hunt camp for a 2 day ride on the labor day long weekend. This is where I did my first EVER ATV ride and earned the name rubberdown due to completely flipping upside down with 4 wheels facing the sky, and me on my back with hands on grips and feet on floor boards LOL.

Anyways here some of the pics from that ride this past long weekend. I'll post up some more once I get them from a few of the others that were there. I should also have some pics of my playing in the lake....until ....well..... I guess I found where it got a little too deep as you can tell from some of the pics, but 20 minutes later and she was runnin and raring to go, gotta love a Polaris for that eh.

I also broke an axle, that shot is in one of Rivens pics, I'll steal it and add it to my list here in a little bit.

This is actually my ATV after I went too deep, I guess no matter how high you build your snorkles, you always end up pushing the envelope a little too far at least one time LOL. I was doing great for about 20 to 30 minutes and then I came up and told the wife to get the camera and thats when I tried to go around that canoe, didnt make it hahaha

Draggin her closer to shore for a tow rope :(

Getting her all drained out and ready for more, seriously, only about 20 minutes and she was ready to rock!!!!

My friends 11 year old on a 1985 Honda TRX 125 trying the big hole between the 2 posts, no one made it, not me, not Rivens 600, not a new 650 cat, no one, but his dad said he could try if he wanted to, he gave er shit but thats about as far as he got. This kid will try anything, gotta love it....

Riven stuck in that same hole, it just wasnt happenin, the ruts under there were just to deep I guess.

A good shot at the start of the swamp, its called 5 mile swamp and this was just the beginnig, after the bridge its not bad for a little while, then they are all like bottomless holes

LOL, ya, we tend to say "have at er" and "git er done" a lot when we are over there at that swamp.

Eric, was it you asking for some "mud" pics and I only posted mostly water pics, if so, well there you go ;)

its great that your getting your kids involved in this sport.

they will be the ones carrying on the tradition and hopefully the same conservation rules that we are practicing now.

LOL @ Turk, ya i plan to go on my next ride with a scube mask and snorkle hanging on the stacks just for the giggle it will give people :D

Eric, I bought her a 1985 TRK 125 for Christmas a few years ago and she rode it a few times but just couldnt grasp the idea of how and when to shift, she pretty much just rode in 2nd gear for the most part. I guess at 7 or 8 years old and never having to shift anything it was just too much of a chore for her LOL so i sold it to my buddy for his kid. She rides mine and the wifes around the yard or on the property at our hunt camp but thats about the extent of it. She wants a Hawkeye but I just dont have the funds for a new machine just yet.

at 8 she should be on a 125 or so, both my kids have them and they can keep up great, they aint no 4x4's but they do awesome.

Here is one last photo to add just to show how NASTY our Canadian Kearney mud can be.
This is my normal riding shirt & it has always come out clean... untill now!:washing:
I washed it off with the hose & put it through the heavy duty cycle on the washing machine & it still has stains. Hell you can still clearly see the strap marks from my chest waders.
I guess i have never had enough fun before to leave a lasting impression:pound::madgrin:

i always wind up with socks that turn almost into brown dress socks.

ive got like 10 pairs that i rotate through. once you hit some of this alabama coal dust mud, thats all it takes. its like some sort of dye that will forever stain your clothes.
