I love honda, don't get me wrong but that is one ugly front end for them. Normaly they build the hottest looking machines on the planet but something went wrong here lol. Big Red as its called will not be released till Next summer so maybe they will listen to the public and make a few changes. I would also like more information on the tranny.

the old timers who always used hondas and dont know any better might give it a shot.

i agree. but like i said. there some people that are stuck on certain makers and dont care whats best/better.

i know people who will ride those POS honda solid rear axle with no low range atv's no matter whats out there.

I haven't tested it out really good yet but anything i have pointed it at it went in 2wd i might add....The only thing i dont like about it is Ground Clearance but RD has that fixed....I wouldnt trade it for anything....I love it...Money well wasted.....:whoo: I'm going to be going to roaring hills pretty soon and they have some good mud...They said i might need a winch but i dont have one so i will see what the mudlites will do...

Bottom line...I'm satisfied with it....

Honda needs to get off their ass and make a 750 with low range, front locker, twin cylinder and 5 speed tranny. I think I would crap myself if this actually happened.LOL

Yep they know how to make a good machine, look at their sport bikes etc. but it seams old habits die hard with the utility bikes. Are they afraid to think out side of the box?

I read on another site that a guy was saying Honda refuses to go over 700cc right now for some odd reason. He also predicts for the 2009 models to feature a big bore of some sort that will have the torque to turn any mud tire in nasty mud with little engine strain. That is all he said. Guess we'll have to wait and see. But I'll believe it when I see it. I am starting to give up on Honda altogether but I'll give em a little more time.

honda has just fallen behind in the technology department.

i mean the flagship of your utility line (rincon) still has shaft drive and no low range?

even with the low tech solid rear axle.. granted alot of other manufactures. still run SRA on their bikes but most are getting away from it.

and hondas have ALWAYS been down on power compared to other makers.

They like relibility....If they made more power you can't have that..SO you have to choose one or the other....

That is true. I want both reliability and power but with Honda I don't think I will ever get it. I love having a reliable machine so that's why I went with a Honda. Also Honda is more of a working mans ATV also. Maybe they will just shock the hell out of us for 2009 but I doubt it.:frusty:

you know I always have a spot in my heart for hondas but I think they missed the boat for 08 in a bad way. that big red is not at all what they need that will not compete with the rhino or rzr and that is IMHO the market with the greatest future and potential (sport sXs), I think they cockpit style seating arrangement in the rzr will become more common. Like a modern version of the Pilot...Hello?? that would rock. Also that 700XX is just to jump on the raptor bandwagon which is a nice ride but I think IRS was a mistake, on a sport machine solid rear axle sells, as we can all see what a hit the Outlaw is (not), in an open class machine you better have something special so I will be awaiting this quad. From around the mid to late 90's honda fell behind, they got in a rut with the foremans and 400ex and have been 2-5 years behind ever since, that big red should have been out back in y2k, 3 yrs ago we should have seen a sport side by side, good products and good company but just not as recreationally geared as they could be. Granted these opinions are based on my locale as I have one of the main service shops for ATVs in the area and I see what people are buying and what they are breaking and hear all about what they like and don't like. But hey they are all that way, Polaris should have never come out with a predator 500, their big break into racing didn't happen, if it was a little lighter and a 450 who knows where they would be, it was kinda between classes but not powerful enough for where it fit, and I could go on and on about the 20 years of blaster/warrior/beartracker, etc. I will stop, I was getting worked up lol.

I don't think anyone should judge this thing before we should get some actually specs on this thing.

Polaris700, the Rincon has IRS, disk brakes, and a 3 speed auto trans with a TQ. Its not was far behind as you make it seem.

Well its not the most attractive one out there but with a few aftermarket add ons it would look alright. I don't think I would ever buy one though.
