rancher powering down

I just bought a 04 rancher es. i got a 1.5 inch snorkel on it, snorkeled all my vent lines, filled the cap with dielectric grease, and anything else elctrical as well. when i am in about seat deep water it is powering down, not even cutting out. what else could be the problem. i just tapped into my vent lines that were already there with the factory splice, i am going to try and change those lines, and maybe even run em all seperate. any advice, please?

well i got it, i hope. seems like the first owner had the top of th carb off, and the gasket was not seating right, i i siliconed the crap out of it, i will give it another shot this weekend.
