Folks First and foremost I regret being absent for so long but it has been a long journey for myself and my family over last year...due to personal issues so again I apologize...
Can I still ride?.....yes but when I have tried I suffer afterwards with swelling pains and do not function well in heat.....apparently from talking to other patients who have endured somewhat I have, give me a year to two, I should be alright
After completing my journey around some of the province with the support both financially and morally from either my family and individuals as far away as Mattawa and Clarence Rockland; I can't say enough how much this mean't to me since it has always been a dream of mine and you all helped made it come true
So now I am officially on holiday and with my wife being off on the last two, we thought it would be nice if we took our daughter around basically in the same vacinity of where I went last year(car friendly roads) for 3 or 4 days. Hopefully we shall be leaving on either th 18th or 19th of August, completing it on either the 21st or 22nd
Day 1
Ajax....Lindsay....Minden....Kearney....Eagle Lake....North Bay....Balsam Creek....Mattawa
Day 2
Mattawa....Deux Rivieres....Rolphton....Petwawa....Pembroke....Ren frew....Arnprior....Gantineau....Clarence Rockland(Bear Brook Farms)
Day 3
Bearbrook Farms....St. Albert....Winchester....Smith Falls....Perth....Sharbot Lake....Snow Road Station....Plevna....Denbeigh
Day 4 Denbeigh....Ajax
Reason?.....well my way of personally thanking the individuals who helped me along way with guides, support and accomodations.
Therefore I will be giving them a hardcopy of the trails I took(in colour)my story(well most of it).....along with the gps's version.
Since Eric of Buttermilk Falls Resort was the first person to step up to the plate by supporting me with accomodations for my journey and supporting me ,I promised him the first copy and will keep this promise
Well the others....well they know who they are......to which I will be contacting them soon to see if they will be around to accept the copy as well as my thanks....
Initially I envisioned a one province trail system....but after talking to numerous individuals around the province along with their input, my feeling is building a strong foundation of clubs whether it be in Parry Sound, Mattawa, Haiburton, Lindsay or even in Clarance Rockland, this is what needs to happen first.
Join your local club. support and contribute, either financially or volunteering and build a strong and confidant and friendly relationship with local land owners, and businesses. Unless there is a strong relationship between atv clubs and the community within to address concerns and issues, then and only then I feel these clubs can flourish and expand in membership and trails.
Maybe one day there will be a one trail system.....but for now.....lets build strong clubs with memberships...sincere leadership and in numbers for a positive influence
Remember folks we have a beautiful province with tremendous communites so get out enjoy and support your local communities and businesses....
