Just ordered the 2" inch rubber down lift Kit.hope to have it soon.I am looking at putting in a clutch kit.the one I am looking at is the EPI/over size tire /with elevation as most of my riding is done above 3500 feet.would this be a good kit? I have also been reading up on the heelclicker clutch kit.which would be better.I have 26" mud lites but I am looking at upgrading to the 27 mud machine bi/tri.The question I have is would they be any good as most of my riding 75% is hard pack, rock hills and slimy rutted trails.I dont really like the mud that much but it is fun to play once in a while

Hello Spot, Welcome. I dont know a lot about the clutch kits but I've heard their great. Only bad thing I've heard about the heelclicker is if the cover isnt put on in a certain way, it can rub a hole in the cover. I'm sure someone that has more experence with clutchkits will be here shortly.

Spot, first off, welcome to the forum. Congrats on the RD lift, you're gonna be mighty impressed with it. Let's start off with what machine you have, that will help us with your clutch kit needs. I have the Heelclicker in both my bikes (both 500 H.O.'s) and they work great, never had any kind of rubbing problem on the clutch covers, it has happened to others but it is few and far between but HC tells you how to install the cover so that does not happen, don't let it scare ya, it's no problem at all if you can read the directions. I don't have any personal experience with the EPI kits, although EPI makes good products. There are two disadvantages to the EPI versus the HC. #1 the EPI kit will rob you of some top end speed whereas the HC will not. #2 the EPI is not an adjustable kit whereas the HC is. The advantage to an adjustable kit is that as you add modifications to your bike, you can make small minute changes to the weight of the actual flyweights themselves by adding or taking away screws and washers. If you buy an EPI kit, they are bike specific, meaning you have to buy one for a 500, a different one for a 700, and even a different one for an 800. The HC kit is ONE kit, you can take it off my 500 and put it on an 800 simply by adding screws and washers to the flyweights to make them heavier so if you have any intentions of upgrading bikes in the future, you can take the HC kit off and take it with you and put on your new bike.

As far as the Bi/Tri combo, I can speak with some real good experience. I had a set on my bike for about a year, then put them on the wifes for awhile before we switched to Outlaws. The claws are great tires. They will work great for the type of riding your describing. They are a hard tire and wear extremely well, they do good on hard pack surfaces, the front bi's allow them to climb pretty good, depending on the type of rock, I don't know how well they would do on rocks. I have never rode rock before, I would think you would want more like a bighorn for rock riding but then there goes every bit of mudding. The claws do great for an all around tire and they will mud with the best of them. Riven has made a very good post in the Products & Reviews section on the Bi/Tri combo, you might take a look at that and cjeck it out. It's some good reading. Sorry for the long post.

Supposely they changed to the good clucth in 2006 on all the bikes. If you look at the pics in my sig, I have a Team secondary clutch in there and an 800 clutch. If you got any pics of your clutch, post them up and I can tell you if they are the same.

My quad is a 04 SP700 efi.I have been doing some reading on the HC kit and Im having a hard time understanding which one I need and any info on people that are running it at anything more then 500 feet above sea level.I am at 3500 and ride to 7400 feet. Also I found a hc kit thru "http://www.royaldistributing.com/07/" but it says for 04 700 need a shim kit.But on this site."http://atvquadsquad.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/3936017264" it is saying there are no shims any more.I am also wondering about my clutch and weather or not I will need to upgrade>I have been told all the efi quads have the same good "team"clutch. Is that true?the major thing is I need more power for the hills and comming out of the holes and to turn the larger tires.I can afford to lose some of my top end but I dont want to take a major hit.I know that the epi elevation/oversize tire kit can do this but can the HC kit.

I have the Bi/Tri's on my 600 popo with the EPI Sport Utility clutch kit. It is one step down from the big wheel kit & i can spin the Bi/Tri's NO problem. I did drop about 5 mph off the top end so you can expect to lose even more if you go with the big wheel set up.
I was thinking about the Heelclicker but i dont know jack about clutches so i opted for the EPI.
Just plug & play:thumb:

I sell alot of the Heelckickers. They are a plug-n-play if you want them to be. Install the reccomended weights and your good to go. But if you change tires, you can adjust the clutch to the new tires. The HC kits are far mor versitle than any other kit out there. I sell 10 Heelclickers to 1 EPI kit.
