The towers are ground down.I didnt over do them but I took them down enough for axle clearence.Dirtbmw20 I used a picture you posted of the strut before and the strut after grinding as a guide for how much to grind off.Now i've got about 5 hours until I get home and start re-assembling,cant wait.

While I have the strut towers off I noticed 2 grease fittngs on the inside of the strut towers near the where the axle goes into the hub.It looks like these grease fittings are to grease the ball joint under the strut tower where the a-arm connects to the tower. Is this correct? If so I need to grease them.

Turk, yes that is correct. They go to the ball joints. They need to be greased EVERY time you ride or after every time you ride. I've gotten in the habbit of greasing them before I load them onto the trailer. Not greasing them will wear out the ball joints extremely quick. It will be even more important to keep them greased once you get the lift on because the lift is just adding stress, wear & tear to the ball joints so they will wear out even faster with the lift on there if you don't grease them.
