I was wondering why you were 3 degrees colder at your place. The thermometer on my deck says -2 C.....So 30 or 31 F. Had some ice on the pool cover this morning.

We're supposed to get our first flakes of the season here in NH tonight. I'm like Froogle I'm allready starting my spring countdown, April is only a little over 5 months away. :frusty:

Ugh...can't believe how fast this summer went, and now warm water riding is over. What a drag.

No doubt, I took my boat out for the last time this season last weekend and the water was only 47 degrees and all the bass were allready all lathagic and in winter mode.

Lows have been consistently in the 60's and occasionally in the high 50's. Time to pull out the waders for my "winter" riding, lol.

I'd buy a sled in a heart beat if we had snow like this.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f24zPB0jAOc&feature=related ..you're on the wrong side of Alberta for that stuff aren't you popo500efi??
froogle
10-22-2008, 04:27 PM
Sure 'ave come a long way in sledding, i can remember sleds being taller than they are wide. Bogie wheels instead of sliders. Back flips, thats nuts eh! Did some reg. Numbers for an '08 1000cc yamaha, what a weapon!
800Stealth
10-22-2008, 04:33 PM
What kind of sled did you get popo500? I miss mine but it was just too much work, I had an XCR 700 stroked, ported, and piped it was making 220hp at the crank. I'd work on it all week long just to get 1 day of riding in and end up breaking something else. Those new Yamaha phazers look pretty cool, look easy to throw around. I think they weigh less than 400 pounds. Shoot now you got me thinking I need another one damn it.
hampster_rancher
10-22-2008, 04:34 PM
No doubt! Polaris is running 153hp twins in their mountain sleds....I'd love to have my arms stretched by one of those!!
800Stealth
10-22-2008, 04:58 PM
Yea, but those four stroke turbos just aren't the same as a two stroke coming up on the pipe. I remember letting by step brother take my XCR for a little rip(after warning him many times to respect the power), he had it wide open across a field of powder went over a drift and found a spot of bare grass, the pics grabbed the ground stood the sled up and tossed him off the back, LOL. that was the last time he ever rode a sled. You wouldn't think someone could get road rash from a snowy field but he managed. LOL
hampster_rancher
10-22-2008, 04:59 PM
Hope he wasn't hurt too bad, but that is funny!
800Stealth
10-22-2008, 05:06 PM
Hurt his ego more than anything else, he did have some pretty good road rash on his back and side. I didn't start laughing at him until he stood up, after I saw he was ok, it was on. I still give him a hard time about when he rambles about how fast his steet bike is.

no in my part of alberta we get quite a bit of snow. snowmobiling is huge around here. the snow is nothing like the mountains on the other side of the province. haven't been there for a while but last time i was i was awesome.
i bought a 2004 polaris switchback 600. it has the electric reverse and a 144" x 2" track. it is all stock but i will be getting a can for it.
800Stealth
10-23-2008, 04:25 PM
Nice, thats a monster track. No powder will be too deep for that.
OnlyPolaris
10-23-2008, 11:33 PM
ya. it was supposed to come with a 1.25" track but the previous owner special ordered it with a 2" track. he could have gotten an rmk but he wanted to soft ride of the switchback. i mean the switchback has a way softer ride then my dads rmk.
