My parents are heading to their place in the NC mountains for a few months. He is taking the ford its an 06. Since we live in FL it does not have a block heater in it. Will it be alright to run up there for a few months? Is there anything he could or should do to it?
Thanks guys and gals

It doesn't get cold enough in NC to worry about. Now, if they want to come up to WI or MN, then there are some things to consider.

The '06 ford should have the block heater. They just didn't supply the ac cord. You can get the cord from the dealer fairly cheep.

you will be fine. there are lots of guys up here that don't plug them in. then theres the ones that just leave them run all night.

My 06 GMC Diesel never gets pluged in and I have not had any trouble. Just make sure the batteries are not getting ready to be replaced. weak batteries could cause trouble.

I only plug mine in when it gets close to zero.

Yup, the 6.0 has the block heater in the right rear freeze plug above the starter. I've put in the cords for a bunch of my customers. If I remember correctly they cost around $23.
