Axle's

I have a 06 sportman 500EFI and need to know what is needed to get the axle out from the front diff.

make sure your atv is secured really well and just pull straight out really hard. they have some sort of compression ring on them holding them in.

Soak it real good with w/d or PB Blaster. and then do it again. then try to pull it out tommorow.

or go to auto zone and rent the slide hammer with the fwd axle puller, two or three hits it will fall out then you will kick youself in the butt for not doing that earlier. that is exactly how i do mine

and be sure to put some anti seize on the splines when you stick it back in.

also take a small piece of wire and clean out the lip inside the diff where the clip on the axle holds. if it gets dirty the axle will start sliding out when you ride it.

I rented the slide hammer and decided to keep it...definitely a good tool to own.
