View Full Version : RD lift question
With the 2" lift did any one else have to remove there a-arm guards. As now that I have the lift on I can no longer turn due to the disk hitting the guard.
Riven... I would asume that is why you built new ones?
I dont have that problem with the 2" front lift installed.I have my stock plastic a-arm gaurds on and they dont hit.Are you using the stock plastic a-arm gaurd or are are using aftermarket a-arm gaurds?

I have never had to remove mine either, but I did notice some scoring on the edge nearest the disc, i didnt worry too much about it though. I guess you could trim them a tiny bit????
Anyone else notice this that has my kit?

Funny you say that.I was noticing the same thing the other night on mine but it doesnt concern me one bit.

My problem was the bigger front axle CV's were really hitting the guards. I had to trim the metal bracket back to the center hole so it would not rub & add a 1/2" nylon spacer. My new guards are 1" further forward than the stock ones were.
I will try to get o pic of the mods to the stock guards.
My moded guards did start catching on the boots this spring about the time my axles started to not lock into the front hub. I guess the sharper angle of the axle when it pulls out caused the boot to buldge & catch the boot. I lost 1 NEW boot & new NEW CV guard this way the same day i put them on:mmph:

Here is the pics of what i had to do to clear my axles. No issues with the lift causing problems like this yet.
