Does anyone know the width of the Polaris 800 deluxe wheels for the 2007 model year. I recently bought a 2007 Polaris 800 deluxe. I want to put different tires on my stock wheels but everyone keeps saying that the front wheels are six inches wide and the backs are seven inches wide. Also everyone says the wheels have more negative offset than other aftermarket wheels. I don't want to run anything extreme just some 27" mudbitches or the 27" Bi claw/Tri claws. I would appreciate any info anyone has. If I need wheel spacers, then I will just buy new wheels instead of spending $200.00 plus for spacers.

Not sure of the width of the aluminum wheels but here is what happened to me.
I went from the stock 26x8r12 in the front to the Carlisle ACT XLR 27x9r12. With the stock tire it looked liked there was a couple of inches of space between the ball joint and the tire. Well, the new tire was rubbing and it was only an inch wider (half inch on either side???). I think with the taller tire, the sidewall curved area ( moved up enough to hit the ball joint with the little bit of extra width. I had to put 1 inch spacers in the front. The rears are fine as they are 27x11r12's. I do think that 12's would fit in the rear but you should confirm that. The tires I have do not come in a 12.
Just something to consider IMO.

The tires will mount on the rims fine, it's the front offset that causes the problem. I think the rears are actually fine, but I know if you go wider than an 8" on the front, you're gonn be coming very very close to the spring/strut on stock rims.

I don't think it would be hitting the ball joint. Tie rod end maybe?

The Bi's are very narrow to be called a 9.75" wide front but i still suggest new offset rims or spacers.
With ITP T7 rims i only have 1/2 - 3/4" clearance.
If you do more trail than mud i suggest the Bi/Tri's. I cant say enough good things about mine.

I really like the mud machine Bi claw/ tri claws too. My friend just put a set on his 2007 Polaris 500 efi. It really sucks that Polaris would put a wheel that looks good (deluxe wheel) in my opinion and then not have enough offset to mount a wider tire on the rim. I think I would be money ahead to just go ahead and buy some new rims. The spacers I have seen are really expensive.

I bough my spacers from Royal Distributing - page 205
$104.95\pair Canadian for 1 inch spacer
