I dont really like chrome....I may eventually black everything out on it. I also want to level it out and possibly put larger tires on her.
something like this but with larger , more aggressive tires and blacked out lights as well.

lift the front a couple inches and fit some bigger tires on er'.
Get rid of the chrome door handles and mirrors.
And shoot, it will be looking even better!

cranking up your torsion bars shouldn't affect your alignment, we have done it on all our chevy's, and it is alot easier when new cause the bolts aren't all rusted up yet.

I like the idea of all black gives it that menaceing (sp?) look, but you have to do lights and all.

Nice lookin H3 you got there. Is it an inline 5 or did you go for the 5.3? So how good of a deal did you get? you can tell us we won't fall over, now is the time for the killer deals. From what I've seen of trucks and other gas pigs around my parts I'd guess around $25K

Cranking the torsion bars (even just a little bit) will increase negative camber and toe in.

Yep...it's always recommended that if you crank the torsion bars 1"+ that you go in and get an alignment. I also heard the more you crank the more stress/wear it creates on front end parts.

You're right on there, cranking the T bars will destroy the control arm bushings if you don't loosen all the control arms bolts before you adjust the height and tighten them all up after. If you just leave them tight and crank up the bars it will tear the rubber inside the bushings in a fairly short amount of time. it also puts much more stress and angle on the balljoints. I know IFS lifts are expensive but usually worth it in the long run.

Haha...my brother has a 00' GMC Sierra 2500 4x4 with a 6" RCD Suspension lift, 3" body lift, and a little bit of t-bar crank with 37" ATs on 20" wheels. I just replaced both hub bearings and now we're looking into replacing upper and lower ball joints on both sides. I think he was going to get some aftermarket Cognito upper control arms with a dual shock setup along with Moog lower ball joints. I also put in a Cognito pitman/idler arm support kit when I install his new reman transmission. I told him with all the money he's putting into the front and rear suspension he might as well just do a solid axle swap. lol

Sorry for the thread jack! Back on topic now! lol

could you explain this? chevy upper control arm bushings are eccentric and will move if you loosen them, so from what i read, if your going to crank them then it should already be on the alignment rack. we've cranked some and never had much issue, just jack the truck off the ground before you start cranking.

You are right the uppers are eccentric design on the full size GMs so when the alignment is done it will take care of those, but the lowers are fixed, if you don't loosen them before the crank it will break the bond of the rubber bushing and the steel sleeves. all the S-10 trucks have eccentric uppers and fixed lowers and the new Colarado-H3 trucks have fixed uppers and eccentric lowers. Basically any fixed control arm bushing will be torn if not indexed when cranking the T-bars. It won't happen imediately but they can start to tear in as little as a few hundred miles if driven hard. Alot of my customers don't realize anything is wrong because they just blame the sloppy handeling on the big tires.

ok, i knew what you were trying to tell me but for some reason it didn't add up. I'll have to remember that, I need to crank my HD a little when i get new sneakers on it.

The tires in in your first pictures throw rocks like no other on gravel roads. Just wanted to warm you. I have had them on 2 GM trucks from the factory and normally trade them out for something with closer lugs. I am no big into mudding a truck as nice as mine and your new one. Just a though. Nice looking ride!!!

I got the V-8 in mine...I heard a story about them...dont know if its true or not...but...they were created for nascars...they were not approved for use in them and GM needed to find something to do with them so they stuck them in the H3.

Got it for $26...not bad considering it stickered for right at $41,000!!
