County forest

I was just woundering if any one knew if you can ride in county forests if you hold a ofatv permite.. I was thinking about buying one this year but i am from wasaga area and all the trails here are just squars. But if i can ride in county forests i can conect the dots.....

All the trails are different. Some down my way are posted as no motorized vehicles, some are posted with a weight restriction and some are no tresspassing.
Give your local MNR a call and ask for this info. It would also be handy to get ahold of a local ATV club and see what info they have.

thejuice: I know this is a late response but you are in Elmvale, and my parents live in town there so I am a little familiar with that area.

Springwater you are 100% not allowed on the roads - period - no exceptions. Not to mention the cops from Huronia West OPP will ticket the sh1t out of you if they catch you.

Stay off that little trail that is in town behind the church and the one that is kinda on the north west end of town - that's restricted and has an actual no ATV rule. That trail connects with the Tiny Trail up at the Tiny/Sprinwater town line and then it becomes the "tiny trail" which is a rail trail that goes 22km's to penetang - it's rail trail so it's not that interesting.

The Simcoe County Forests are kinda ok to ride in - you need an OFATV permit (the local club is COATV) to ride in them and they are enforced by both OFATV wardens and the OPP. You also have to stay on the marked trail.

If you want to go for a ride that's close - in a county forest, if you go up north of elmvale on 6 towards wyevale, if you make a left on the 4th line the Wildman Tract is on your right - that trail is fine (OFATV permit required) for more info and location goto COATV.CA
