Been thinking about getting a lift for my popo. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get 2" for the front. But i'm a little iffy on lifting the rear 1.5". I just can't see adding another 1.5" of lift on the rear and straining the axles as much as they already are. I don't want to have to have the springs on the lowest preload because i like the rear to be a little stiff so the ass end doesn't "squat" when you get on the throttle. So pretty much i'd appreciate it if i could get come pics of the rear lift, or before and after rear lift for a 700just so i can see how much more the axles will be angled. Thanks a ton.
Mines a 500 not a 700 but here's a few pictures'...2" in the front and 1.5" in the back

This is mine with 1 1/2" in the front and no lift in the rear, just the preload turned up. It is stiff in the back but works for me, I'm 5'11" 260 pounds.

Heres my 500, it wont matter what year or model you see pictures of because it has not changed in probably a decade.

I thought I should also mention, if you put my rear lift kit in, you can go to the lowest preload setting and it will still be a bit stiff, its a great option for people that ride 2-up all the time. I know Riven, one of my moderators here has it on his 600 and he is very happy as far as I know, maybe he will chime in on the subject for you as well....

Yep i run my rear lift at the lowest setting & it still gives a little stiffer ride with less rear end sag than with the springs at full pre-load.
With my wife on the bike we are pushing 420lbs & before the lift i could actually hit the top of the rear fenders on take off with 26" tires. Now running 27" tires & the lift it wont even come close.
The bike only drops 2 1/4" in the rear with both of us sitting on it now.
I dont have any axle problems on the rear at all.
She is not happy i called her out just to have her pic taken with the new lift

Its easy to see where the tire was rubbing the fender.

Lol, sorry if i got ya in trouble. I appreciate the pictures though. I'll prolly just end up getting 1.5" in the rear, if i start breaking axles ill just take it off. No big deal. I'll get up with you when i get the money for both front and rear. Thanks again.

with the lift in the rear and the preload turned up to notches it is stiff as hell.
you can go to the lowest preload setting and it will still be a bit stiff
Thats how mine are set and I'm very happy with it.

ya i think because the shock angle changes a bit the suspension gets stiffer. even on the lowest preload it is stiff. i wouldn't worry to much about the rear axles. i have been riding with what i discribed up a bit for over a year and have never had a problem.
