I picked up my stainless 2" pipe today & now i need some advice on how to set up my pipes. I think i will be using 1.5" hose for all the lines unless i find i do have room for 2"

I have 3 ways i have been thinking of.

1) The normal 3 pipes up the center of the rack in front of the pod, but im not sure how to attach them to the bike & still have access to tighten the clamps on the hose. I can bolt them to the rack but how to get at the hose has me beat.

2) Run the clutch pipes up the out side edge of the racks like Rubberdown has, But run the carb hose up the front of the bike & in to the pod.

3) Is like #2 with the clutch lines but one of the guys at work asked why not run the carb line out the back of the bike like an exhaust snorkel? This might be the easy way but i doubt it would look that good & i would thing it would be real easy to plug the line if you got spinning in the mud.

Any pics or suggestions are welcomed...

I would put them as close to the center of the bike as I could. I don't like mine on the outside edge of the fenders because they are real easy to dunk under, if the bike tips or tilts to either side they their going under, that's why I'm re-doing mine to the center of the bike.

I think 3 in the center is how i will try to do it.
Do you have any pics of how you ran your hose or cut your racks? Your bike has the cargo box right. Mine might be a bit nicer to work on without that box in the way.

Yep, that exactly what I mean Riven. If they were mounted on the sides then you'de probally de dunking one of them under in that pic, or it would be scarily close to the water. Yea, I got the front box on mine so yours will be mounted up a completely different way. I don't have any pics of how my hoses are run and mine are actually mounted on my fenders and not my rack. That's what I'm fixing to do is re-do mine up to the center of the rack and get mine off the edge of the fenders.

So how are the hoses run normally? Out through the wheel wells & then back under the racks to hook up to the stacks? I dont think their is enough room to run the lines through the body of the bike.

The condition my bike is in right now makes it look real easy to rune the hoses.
Its at the dealer & the only thing lef on the body is the back rack & plastic. Everything from the back rack forward is in a pile on the dealers floor. He says it will be back together for the weekend but he has already had it for 5 weeks.
If it keeps snowing i will have to put the plow on when i get it home. They are calling for -7 tonight.

Hey Jay, next time you are at Robbies, tell him Paul from Niagara Falls said to get moving on that thing LOL. You better hope it dont snow or he's likely to sit on that ATV till after snowmobile season ends....

Dont i know it! LOL
With all the sleds & canoes its a wonder he has time for ATVs ;)

He does not take long to do the work usually, its just been 2 weeks waiting for the F'n parts to come in. Who would think a timing gear would be so hard to find.

Ha Paul you got any good pics on how you routed your hoses for your snokels?

I want to get as much of the metal fab done before im out of work in December.

Is their any reason not to put a full turn down on the top of my stacks? I am getting my 2" pipe custom bent at the local Speedy shop & want to have all the angles figured out before i go in.

You would be fine with full turn downs I would think, thats how most of them do it. I just got out of the shower, I bagged a big buck tonight and still havent had anything to eat since lunch so my big fat ass is starving LOL, I'll see what I can find tonight or tomorrow, I'm off tomorrow so I'll have some time to look or even take some new pics for you since mine is partially apart now as well.

Way to go! Your using a bow i guess, I dont have that much patience. For me it is semi auto SKS all the way. Well when i was hunting that what i used.
It takes both 5 & 30 shot clips:rockon:

How many points was it?

Any pics of your snorkels you can throw my way would be a great help
I will start getting them bent up next week after pay day, & once i get my bike back. I dont want to build too much & have it not work out.

Here is a quick design i put together today. With the raised box it will let me bolt the whole thing to the racks & give me room attach the clamps onto the hose.

sise the pipe is 2" why dont you just use 1.5" hose and slip it up into the stacks. you can take your front rack off easy enough with like 4 screws to slip the hose in there or line it up. so then you can just attach the stacks right to the rack and you don't need a rider box. plus it is easy to take apart.

That would work but i also want to run a rack mounted cargo box & need to keep the pipes as close to the handle bars as possible. The box will help me move them closer to the pod still keep them mounted solid.

Once i get my bike back i will be in a better position to finish the design. I just want to get it as close as i can before it gets fixed.

One more set back. The shop that said they could mandrel bend my pipes cant now & they never could. They said it to get my business & took a chance that i would just say OK & not press the issue.

I want a smooth bend & all the local shops can only do a kinked bend.

Looks like i will be looking a little further away to find a shop to do the bending the way i want it.
