after getting up close and personal with my popo this weekend, i have a ideal.
after doing a full fluid change and installing Rubberdown's lift kit, it hit me.
the rear tool box, you know that water holder in the rear. why not replace it with a rear winch mount? a simple "on/off/on" switch could be used as a selecter for frount / rear operation.

I've seen Sportsmans with a winch below the rear box, it's wierd everybody hates the rear "water holder" but mine has never leaked a drop even after being sunk for a couple hours in a swamp.

a friend of ours took his winch out of the front and mounted it to a hitch reciever with a rise. so he just popps it into his hitch. he did this so he could get to the rads better to wash them.

My company Hidden Hitch makes a 1.25" hitch mount winch bracket that should be available through Motovan.
My rear box doesnt leak as far as I know.I dont keep anything in it though.Just kinda takes up space back there.

i just use mine to store my tow strap. because it doesn't matter if it gets wet and it is easy to access back there.

I'm already in the works for this. My old warn 3.0 will be moved to the rear where the box is and my new warn XT3.0 will go up front. I have a MV winch selector switch ready for install. When it's all said and done I'll have dual winches with 3 ways to controll them indepently. The rocker switch on the bars, the 10 foot corded remote, and the wireless remote with the XT3.0. The MV switch will allow me to control either the front or rear winch with whatever method I want. I'll have some pictures whenever it's all said and done

Thats sounds like it's going to be a pretty sweet set up.

I use mine for crushed up beverage cans.

It does make a nifty little trash bin or recycle bin.

Mine also leaks like a fish bowl. I only keep a pull strap in mine, other than that, I don't use mine.
800Stealth and Turk, yalls probally don't leak because they changed that box after 2005 and started making it completely sealed so it won't leak. All you gotta do if yours leaks is go buy one for a 2006 or newer bike and they are sealed up OR just silicone around all the edges on the one you ahve and it should seal it up.
