I was wondering about some of these off brand youth quads. My son will be 5 in July and he is ready for a gas powered one now. I have seen these Jackels and such on ebay, not a lot of local dealers around me that sell them. I was wondering about the best bang for the buck, what luck some of you might have had.

thanks

I know my neighbour bought 2 110cc off brand quads off ebay and has had a lot of trouble with them. Extreme vibration caused a lot of lost or loose nuts and bolts, brake parts and exhausts.
One of the models has had the tail section of the frame welded back on at least twice.
If you have a big back yard and are going to ride them on the lawn, they should be ok for that. If you actually want him to ride on anykind of trail with you, well, you get what you pay for.

I bought my nephew one for 600 bucks. Was brand new. I got it because I didn't wanna drop the big bucks on a small bike for him to learn to ride on. I knew I would never let him ride by himself out where we ride. That being said, the motor in this lil 110cc runs great. You have loctite every nut and bolt on though. The rear swing arm is kind of cock eyed just to keep the chain on it. IMO, it was worth every penny. When he gets a little bigger and little better on an ATV I will get him something that he can ride out with the big boys.

i dont have any "off brand" dealers around here, just the major sellers. i really want to look at one before I buy it too.

I ordered mine from a website. Will have to talk to my dad about which site I got it from. Was 600 shipped to the door. Like I said, would not take it out in the woods we ride, but I think it is an excellent learning quad for the youngin's. Even has remote kill on it.

Exactly the reason I didn't wanna shell out a ton of money for something I know will get torn up. If it survives him and he moves up to a bigger machine then his sister will get it. I might have to paint the plastics pink for her though.

Maybe Riven can provide some advice, I believe he has some experience with several brands of off label youth quads.

I know the one we got is a Honda knockoff... And some of the Honda parts will fit this quad. I keep wanting to say the motor is a Lonsin or something like that.

Every small size off shore bike from 50 to 125cc that I have sold has been a Honda copy.
I have been dealing in several brands since 2007 with no real major issues at all unless you count idiots with wrenches that think they know what they are doing...
I have sold Zstar, Acxa, Kazuma, ZMC? Toa Tao & Ulike & have access to Bush Bear & Power Max.

Yes the nuts like to loosen up & the electrical connections are not water tight but all in all you cant beat the price.
I have just got my first load of Tao Tao bikes & I have to say they are the best built ( good paint, nice welds, over all fit & finish) bikes i have sold. Ulike is up there as well but i like the TT models better.

I suggest the TT 110 B or F model for a 5 year old just purely on bike size. The B is smaller.

Both body styles are VERY popular & are available from most every china based atv company with only minor changes if any.
The first one is generally called a Dino & the second is a Hummer or Mini Hummer.

jasonch I never have but will look into the cost if you PM me your info.
