Well, as it said in title.....

Well, I had THOUGHT I COMPLETELY covered mine with HEAT tape... LOL.....
It DID last a few seasons and it is NOT cheap for these rolls of heat tape...
BUT...:frusty:
I took on water in my CVT this last ride, and it was when I got in water deep enough to come to the A in the Can Am, I guess... I know I have rode in deeper this season already the way the creeks are, BUT......
I had to stop, and help my buddy on his GRIZZLY, that is NOT snorked, and as I sit there and IDLED, I must have took on water in my CVT, ...

I have always been FINE, with some throttle, and the REASON I snorked mine is to be rid of the little water that gets into the CVT, at LOW RPM...
HMMMMMM>>.....

This is with the HEAT TAPE pulled back a bit... WoW!!!

BUT... lol I DID however KNOW it was slipping.....

Yep... I'm done with the SPA HOSE, even on the CVT EXHAUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So... LESSON LEARNED again for ME...

CHECK YOU CVT EXHAUST every season of creek/mud/RIDE...........

I however, DID know it was slipping, so I did NOT get on it at all.. Just a tad....

And once again, I had HOT BLACK WATER come out of my drain, when I FINALLY got it outta the hole with my buddy on his GRIZZ, and drained it...
MAN....

Yep, you'd better.. lol

That is one of the HOT points on the snorks.. I had actually LOST some heat tape, apparently as there shoulda been more to what I had to peel back....
Now, that has lasted from when I first snorked it when it was new.... Maybe just a seasonal thing unless ya get you a piece of pipe from the muffler shop or something like a couple buddies have done........

Yep, its spa hose in the pic..

I had the flex pvc on it at first when I first snorked it.... But it wouldnt hardly bend, it was heavy, and I needed it to bend for where I wanted the hot air to flow instead of right there by the intakes, as mine (as of right now) is still in the POD....
I ran it up with the spa hose and turned it back and somewhat down where it is blowing out by the gear shifter instead of the pod with the intakes.....

Here's a pic of the flex pvc when I was in the process of doing them at first....

This is of the fittings to go on the cvt outlet.

And here is a down view of the snorks with the pod off when I had the flex suff on it, although I had added a 90 on it to turn the cvt exhaust down, but it was still in there with it and is why I changed to the spa hose....

With the intake and the exhaust for the clutch so close together you might not be getting enough cool air. Drawing back in the warm air making it warmier each time it blows through the clutch.

Yea, thats why I had changed it to the spa hose and had it pointed back and down... It was pointed sorta backe towards me sittin on the quad, and down somewhat, and it stopped at the gear shifter linkage..... The only two in the pod are the air and clutch intakes.....

Ya, I noticed it was really hot real fast when I had it like that with the flex pvc...

About the one and only thing that I can complain about on a Can Am is the pathetic job they did on the belt exhaust from the factory. I've seen some jap made 50cc kids 4 wheelers that had a better and higher factory snorkel that what comes on these bikes. Once I get a few warranty items fixed on mine (chattering front brakes, brake light stopped working and the final 20 hours maintenance) I'm going to run a short hose from the belt exhaust up towards the pod to fix the problem.

The biggest problem is the fact that both exhaust pipes run right next to the belt exhaust location. It kinda limits what you can do without using some sort of hard PVC or something that don't melt so easy.

My suggestion is to get rid of that junk hose your using. That stuff is garbage. I tried to use it on my blue Polaris 700 and it didn't last 2 months. Lesson learned and I went back with spa hose and never had another problem out of any other bike I've used it on after that. Also, if you plan on keeping this bike I would suggest you wrap the exhaust with some fiberglass heat wrap or what works even better is have it ceramic coated. It's kinda expensive but works great and last a very long time.
