Not positive on the 04 700 but the 03 700 has a CV on the outboard and a U-Joint on the inboard like my 04.5 500HO and my 04.5 400 have. I dont have the parts manuals for the 04 700 yet, but now I will have to go download it....

I just looked at both models you mentione and they are different, the 04 700 has the u-joint on the inside.
Yes they are free, they have parts and owners for most of the newer machines, like the last 8 years maybe. You have to register, but it only takes a minute and it is free.
Theres a guy on this site that sells OEM grade CV joints, he goes by the name CD andf I have bought a few off of him already and they look just like the OEM ones but they are only about $100 for the compelte joint, boot, bands and grease.
