Get the 800R XT.

The R badge denotes the engine. Can Am changed the engine in 2009. Larger cam, adjusted the timing, larger air intake, different air filter. This resulted in a 14% HP gain over the previous years.

The XT badge denotes what "extra" you get with the bike. The base bike is a 800R Outlander. The "extra" package is the XT which comes with a few extra decals, front and rear bumpers, winch and handguards.

So I would suggest you go with the 800R XT. Unless you want the 2-up version which would be the 800R XT Max.

i realy like the MAX. it adds a little stability as far as hillls and things. with the longer wheelbase on it. float up hills that normally i would be stressing.. if your getting the max might as well get the max LTD.

The only problem with the max is that it is a lot harder to move around on tight trails. If your wanting a trail bike with little mud, get the 1-up. If your wanting to bog this bike and do very little trail riding, get the max. The 2-ups extra wheel base is king in the pits. The longer bike allows you to keep the front end down a little easier.

Love it so far. Got about 500 trouble free miles on it. About to change my front brakes though. The big machine eats brakes pretty bad.

I think if you were to get an XP you wouldn't be dissapointed. I have no regrets in my decision and this is coming from a guy that's owned 8 Honda's 3 Yamaha's. I'm just still amazed by the power this thing has...reminds me of of last year when I had a Grizzy gotta love that speed
