ok so most of you who have been on HL for a little while know about all my posts i made when my bike was having a problem with shutting off after and extended period of use either at idle or when i would get on the gas after leitting it idle(keep in mind this was after around 3 hours of use dueing a ride) and it would not start unless i added fresh gas or ket it sit......well after many many mnay hours of head scrtaching i somwhat tracked it down to dirty electrical connections wich after i cleaned all connections good it would not do it till a good while later i would have to clean them again(ie: voltage regulator, fuse box, all grounds, including coild..... ground these are some of the main connections wich do not have a seal and are prone to getting dirty and coroding) basically what a theory that was presented to me was that there was not enough voltage being sent to the pump and after things got hot(especially gas in the tank) there would be too much a drop in voltage for the fuel pump to provide enough pressure for the injectors......wich i am 100% sure is still the main issue here.....BUT!!!!!!! after reading the fuel filter post made just recetly..i started to wonder .....well i havent replaced my fuel filter and i am going on 250 hours and 1200 miles here....with a period of 6 months where it sat un-ridable not to mention i had sunk it twice....so im just kinda throwing the theory out there that a dirty fuel filter could be part if not most and/or the initiator of the problem........so does anybody understabd what i am saying and maybe think the same way(and yes i am going to replace my fuel filter before i ride next

First of all, you are in shit with the boss over here!!!! He told me (that rubberdown clown) that your chronicles would be great for this site so he wants to know why you wont share them over here with the good folks on his forum????

LOL, hey Chase, glad to see you havent put a grenade under it yet, and to be honest, you will have learned sooooo much from this experiance that you are becomeing a very valuable asset to the forums.

As for your question, I dont know, I dont ride an EFI nor have I ever had this many problems, mine are all much simpler problems. I WOULD change that filter and see how she goes from there.
As for all your electrical connections that are not very well protected, do you gob on the dielectric greese or that liquid elctrical tape after you have cleaned them?

Paul.

i think a fuel filter is an easy and cheap way to maybe fix what is wrong. i would go for it.

yep, change the filter, even if it does not fix the issue. it will shorten the list of suspects.
