Not required for adults last time I checked. I think anyone under the age of 16 has to have one though.

cool. I do wear one most of the time, but if we buggerr off on a little slow ride, I may leave it off.

Just checked some info and its anyone under 18 has to have one (state law). I'll be coming helmet-less. Fat kid gets too hot to wear one lol.

Regardless I would wear one! If you are heading to the mountains anything can happen at any time. A loose gravel slide off the side, a felling rock from an above hill, a one to many drinks mountain climb and so on and so on....

I am not a big helmet rider myself but I grew up on the flat land and mud pits. When ever I ride in VA or KY I wear mine no matter what!!!

Be safe, I need to back in one piece to build me shit ha-ha.

You can use my buddy "Gooch" as an example. And keep in mind he was one of the more experienced riders in our group!

You see his bike in good shape:

Then you see it later that day:

That sucks. I couldn't ride in canada, or I'd have a stack of fines lol. I know I probably should wear one but for now I'll stick with the bucket hat and goggles lol.
