Ok I just started putting everything back together after washing everything. Also I did the upgrade bolts in the rear. After putting everything on (all Plastic) I went to start and I did not hear the fuel pump turn on. I have trace the wire that is on the top of the tank and can not find anything, is this the fuel pump or the gauge. I have a 2003 manual but there is nothing in there about EFI. Is there a fuse or where is the fuel pump located at? I have found the filter which I guess I will replace ( does anyone know an after market filter that I can get) it since I found it LOL!!! Thanks for any info

there is a relay that controles the fuel pump that could be just getting a bad connection.

Where is that located? Also I use a test light to see if the wires to the top of the tank have power and none of them do. Is this the same wire that feeds the pump? There is a red with a black line, a Purple and a brown. From what I think the red with black is power and the purple is for the gauge since it goes to the pod and brown is ground. Doe sthis same lead run the pump?

it is located in front of the headlight pod. if you pull your front rack off and pull the piece of plastic that runs down the middle of the machine. it should be under there where the ecm is.

Ok, here is what it looks like. I unplugged the plug that has the red/black wire to it and then ran a hot lead from the battery and they fuel pump ran. So I think it is the Relay, is there a way to test it? Plus what do you think might casue it to fry like it did?

looking at the pic's i would say you have a bad connection somewhere in the circut. was it mounted good? how do the pins on the connector look?

I would take a digtal multi meter and test in front of the relay behind the relay till you find out where you lose power!!!That water might have caused it if you didnt have dielectrial grease on all of it!!

The pins in the one connector was full of dirt, this is the one has one of the wires that go to the fuel pump in it. The part that is melted is where the ground wires (3) where hooked up to it, they look good. What is weird, I rode it with everything off (all plastics) days after I washed it. I guess it was a time bomb ticking. I am going to look over every wire today to ensure that everything has a good connection. I don't have a multi meter and don't know how to use one that well. All I have is a test light. I hope to have an replacement for it on Friday, the Polaris dealer is having a 30% off everything that they have in stock.
