so home depot opened today in our town and they are the only ones that sell the pool hose. so i went there to get some and they only sell 1 1/4 at 7 buck a foot! is that what you guys paid? they also had some sump pump hose that was a different kind and it was pretty strong and hard to squeeze and it was only 10 bucks for a role of 20 feet. do you guys think this stuff will be good enough to do snokels if i wrap it in a layer of gorilla tape and heat tape? the only other stuff they sold only comes in stock in the spring and it is 30 bucks for 20 feet. so if you guys think that the sump pump hosw will be good enough i will go ahead and get that.

I used that sump pump hose on one of my generations of snorkels and it was okay, it never leaked that i am away of but it isnt all that thick. I also got it at HD like you. I used pool vaccumm hose this last time, its light blue with a black strip to it on the inner rings of the coil of the hose. This hose it a fair bit thicker than that spa hose and I got it from a pool store, it was originally about $60 for a 30 footer but it was returned by a customer right before I got there because it was too short so I got it on clearance price of $25 for the roll.
Is the pool hose that you saw at HD a clear really REALLY thick hose with little flex to it? is so, dont bother, you will never get it to bend everywhere you need it to. Just use one of the 2 I mentioned and use something to protect it from the heat around the exhaust system.

I've been searching very hard the past week for a hose to snorkel my popo with also. The blue spa hose at lowes here is about $3 a foot. I need 20ft. I don't really feel like paying 60 so i've been looking around. I've found two im going to decide between. The price is alot better. Here are the links. They may be the exact same thing, but they look different.

rd the pool hose was blue with black stripes. i saw your pic that you posted a while back on the sump pump hose you used and that is not the same stuff that they got at hd now. there is some at totem and it is flimsy shit. then the stuff at hd is pretty much the same as the non kink spiral tubing but it is for sump pumps. out of them all the sump pump hose at hd is in the middle of the three. there is a pool store in town that sells pool hose too (the blue stuff) but there prices are rediculous. the sump pump hose at totem i can squeeze easily and it kinks easily. now the stuff at hd i cant squeeze but it bends easy. i think i will go pick some up from hd tomorrow. unless anyone has something bad to say about sump pump hose.

The black stuff I bought at the HD was clearly labeled sump pump hose, but it worked fine, I just upgraded to what I persoanlly felt would be better, but I also got lucky and found a good deal on it.

ya you got lucky. unless i want to spend $70 on hose to snorkel my bike (which i would never do) i am going to go with the stiffer sump pump hose from hd.

Instead of buying it by the foot, go into the garden section, usually the outside section around here in Ga. but no telling me with you guys up north, but in the garden section they sell it in a 30 foot roll that is in a box and the whole 30' roll is only $30.00. It's in the section where you buy the chemicals for your pool. If you're only doing one quad you will end up with about 15' left over but you still only spent $30.00 bucks.

Here is the link to the hose at Lowes, it is actually a 36 foot roll for almost $32.00 bucks. You should be able to use the item number at your local Lowes and get the same exact hose.

I used the 1.25 inch for the clutch intake and exhaust and 2" for the airbox. When I redid mine I removed the airbox and did a 2" right to the efi boot. Gets a lot more air with out the air box. Took me awile to get the Dobeck cranked up high enough to run perfect.

They keep it in the same place here in the Huntsville store, & its about $30-40 for the roll. The stuff we have is heavy duty black but it is smooth on the inside.

Stephen, you should be able to take that stock number for that roll and have Home Depot get you the same thing, if they won't then you can always buy the same exact stuff off of ebay for $30.00 for a 30' roll.

If we had a LOWES in Canada we could get the white ones like Lee used but we get stuck with the grey ones and they are a lot tighter. I think I just pushed really hard.

well if i would have known that. peavy mart sells the grey ones and the white ones. i just got the grey ones because they were cheaper. i will have to give it another try with just pushing really hard. to late to change them to white because i have the grey ones glued in.

Spray some silicone or wd-40 on the fitting and into the hose to help it slide on, dishwashing liquid soap works well too. The white fittings are a bitch to get the hose on too.
