So my buddy sells the Amsoil product line and I thought I was out of front gear case oil so I asked him to get me something from Amsoil, he gives me a shock fluid for shocks called Shock Therapy (I think thats what it was called, or something like that...), and says its the cross referenced product for the front gear case oil from Polaris. Anyone else ever heard of this before I put it in???

I sell amsoil also and I would only put the polaris fluid in mine. Try it and let me know how it works.

I've heard of that, but haven't tried it, or know someone that has gotton the ball's to do it......LOL I think I remeber reading about Crimb on that "other site" using the type f tranny fluid in his. He hasn't had a prblem that I know of.
This is the list I got from amsoil a while back......
Polaris 0W-40 Premium Synthetic =
Amsoil Formula 4-Stroke OW-40 (AFF)
Polaris Synthetic Gearcase Lubricant (AGL) part#2873602 =
Amsoil Series 2000 Synthetic Chaincase Lube (TCC)
Polaris Premium ATV Angle Drive Fluid part#2871653 =
Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-90 Synthetic Gear Oil (SVG)
Polaris Premium Demand Drive Hub Fluid part#2871654 =
Amsoil Shock Therapy Light (STL)

CrimB has had a problem with everything possible on that machine.
I will find a bunch of posts for you on the shock oil thing. Beside the shock oil costs more than the Polaris fluid. I can't see a reason to try it.

I bought it because I thought I was out of front gear case fluid, then i found 2 more bottles, so i was going to just keep the shock therapy for a "backup supply" in case of emergency.
as stated above some books suggest automatic tranny fluid for the old style front hubs and as they use the same fluid that would be ok, however anymore I just use and stock the polaris fluid. Since i quit amsoil i'm not up on there stuff enough to answer the original question.

RD, Use nothing but the polaris oil in the front hub. I've heard and read about all kinds of bad luck where guys have "tried" other lubes with some nasty results. For the price and the amount used your really not saving anything anyway, or at least enough to warrent a messed up front case. The two places I'll always use polaris oils in the front diff and tranny. The rear diff I use a good syn. gear oil and the engine I have been using Amsoil syn. 0-40 with no problems.

LOL,LOL..... That's the dam truth right there Vern. Everything Crimb has touched on that bike he has had problems with.
HOWEVER....... I have READ (not tried) where COB uses tranny fluid also in his front diffs, Type "F" fluid to be specific and he said it is fine to use UNLESS your machine has the new ADC, then he said tranny fluid will not work and you MUST use the Polaris fluid. I MYSELF only use the Polaris fluid in my front diff, I have never tried anything different.

Same here. I use Amsoil marine lube in the rear. OOH that just sounds bad.

Well so far I've only ever used polaris fluids in the front gear case and the rear gear case, but I have always used Amsoil 0W40 for the motor oil. Seems lately every time i check the gear cases they are full of milk, could be that I drowned her twice in the last few times i have checked it that got it full of water but I will continue to keep an eye on them.
