I have an 05 700 with an 06 800 primary. Stock weights and springs. But I want abit more bottom end without messing up my top end speed. Is that possible?
Is changing the secondary spring only effect "shift out" and top end speed?
Next thing is a pipe....Its an EFI, so if I add a pipe will I need a controller to re-map the stock EFI. Just wondering if there is a pipe that will work without an EFI controller.

Most pipes on a polaris will only change the sound. Won't flow much better than stock. The efis run a smidge rich to start with so, 95% of the time it will be OK with out a programmer. Add a snorkle and change the intake air flow then you will need one for sure.

the trade off on clutching is a give and take deal. wanting more bottom end usually trades off loosing top end. some kits are good about not loosing too much but some really screw up either/or.
i ran a epi kit on my 03 700 and i got alot of bottom end pull but top speed was less than 40. it maxed out about 37-38.
the heelclicker i bought after that was a ton better and i didnt loose near as much top end and gained a crap load of bottom end. bad part about the heelclicker is that its a pain to tune. but man when you get it right, its right!!
try upgrading to to a high end belt and that should help you out alot.
my red bike is having major problems but i havent had time to tune the kit recently. i got alot of pull but the motor is overpowering the clutch. from a stop, taking off at WOT in low the engine is hitting the rev limiter and the bike falls flat on its face after about 10 feet and stays on the rev limiter all the way till it maxes out. in high its alot better but still bumps the rev limiter just a tad. i think its time to break into the secondary and change the helix. ive got the max amount of weights in the primary now and its still doing it.

well with my stock pipe my bike ran really rich (keeps the air/fuel mixture guage maxed out on the rich led)
but with the HSP muffler and stock pipe, it ran rich when it was cold and then leaned out some once it got warm. not down far enough to be at the right spot but it did lean out some.

i will be using the 800 oem helix.have a buddy that is running the heel clicker kit and a oem 800 helix and loves it.he has had great sucess with that setup.that is what i am going to do when i put my hc kit in.
