Hi Guys,

Man I hate winter!! Only good part is planning the spring trips.

Well after several months of tough decision making, I am pretty sure I am going with the 27 inch MudZilla. 27 x 9 x 12 front and 27 x 12 x 12 rear for my 2010 800 XT-P.

I struggled with this for some time and wanted 28's, but have decided to keep the stock wheels.

Anyhow, hope to have them on by this weekend.

I will post a pic.

let me know if there are reasons I should reconsider this.

Cheers!

the mudzillas are a really aggressive tire, you know that right? Some people are getting the MUD ZILLA and the new ZILLA mixed up.

Good tire for mud, does pretty good on the trails, wears like iron (your bike will wear out before the tires) but they are heavy! Only down fall IMO.

You can't run those tires on the front without buying some aftermarket wheels or by using some spacers. They will rub the tierod on the inside.

Thanks Guys,

I like the MudZilla over the Zilla. I know they are heavy but dont think that will have an affect on the bike.

bankrupt, I have read they will fit on the front. is the 09 different than the 10? how much room do you think I will need to add?

if you get the 9's up front, they may rub just a little. just put some washers behind the rims. i did that on my buddy's renegade with 589's two years ago and its never had a problem.

anything over 9" wide, you need spacers or aftermarket wheels. with 9's, its close.

With the ITP 589's the fronts are fine with stock rims and MAYBE a washer or two.

With Titan 589's, there is NO way to fit with just washers and stock rims. 28" tire anyways. The rim sits way in on the tire and eats the clearance up.

I just bit the bullet and bought spacers.

Thanks for the input guys. I will prolly buy the spacers. Are the rears going to fit the stock wheels? They are called 12 wide, but actual measurement is 11.5. I have read that you can put tire on that is 4 inches above wheel width. This will be a bit over.

The rears are fine. It's just the front's that rub the tie rod ends if your running stock rims.

When I bought my 1st Cam Am (07 Outty 800) I bought it with no rims or tires so I borrowed a set of stock rims and 26" Mud Lites to bring it home on. The rears were 26x12 and the fronts were 26x9. The front's rubbed like crazy on the tie rods and I was barely able to get the bike loaded up and unloaded without the tie rods eating up the tires.

Washers are a option if it's just barely touching but your looking at a 1.00 fix for a 100.00 problem. Using more than 1 or 2 washers will lead to problems. Any time you lessen the amount of threads the lug nut has, it's never a good thing.

I know where you might be able to get some spacers. There's a shady guy that lurks around here named Paul and he might be able to hook you up. Watch out for him though... He's nothing but trouble.

Just put a set of 1" spacers on the front. They aren't that expensive.
You can run 28's on your stock wheels too sizes are for a 12 wheel.
I had 27's on my Rincon, I liked them. They did good in the mud, were ok on trails at speed but did like to wander. They are a super tough tire, and they measure a bit big. I would say that a 27x9 MudZilla will rub the front for sure. I remember my 27x12's being around 27 3/4" tall and about 13.5" wide.
I will say that the Outlaws I have now are a far better tire, even on the trails. They ride much smoother at low speeds, but wander just as bad.

Ya I plan to use the spacers for sure. I was going to see what they looked like tomorrow when I pick them up. No sense buying the spacers if I don't need them.

Hey Paul, do you have them for my bike and how much to ship to Keswick?

I don't think he does, I think I remember him saying he stopped because they weren't worth the trouble. But he'll answer anyway.

Royal Distributing sells them, they are in Ontario somewhere.
