The stock axles have this metal "dirt skirt" as I call it, but on the stock ones, this metal skirt is all the way up to the rear diff housing, these are not. Even though the stock ones go right up close, there was still dirt in there, its not a sealed area by any means, but they WERE a lot closer to the aluminum housing than these. These are the Rhino axles and they are pushed all the way in.

Someone was asleep when the measured those!

Does it make a difference on which side they go on? Is there a right and a left??

I say if it's Hammy's bike, who cares. If it's yours Paul, better make sure it's right. Doesn't look like yours so I say, who cares.

there is a right and a left, the left is a longer axle, they are in there correctly.

Phil, if I put it together and its wrong, hammy's just gonna bug me till I fix it, so I'd better just do it right the first time LOL.

Lucky for me, Paul doesn't roll like that. Even if it isn't his bike, It would bug the shit out of him if it was less than perfect.

So.....without those dust covers, they are just like Polaris axles then. Goop 'em up with anti seize and run 'em! LOL

No way i'd run them like that the axel seals would go bad fast......

The dust sheilds should be removeable.....they are on stocks and gorrillas, they are just pressed on there..so just slide them up to the diff. get a piece of wood and small hammer and give them a tap.

paul,
those shields will slide out over time.. I've heard you can drive them back in like posted above..
I have one that's slid out some. guess I need to try to dive it back in.I never thought aboutth seals, as a lot of bikes don't have the shields.

No problem guys. Now get that lift done Paul!

oh and to stop them from sliding out just put a little tack weld on it. i've got a mig here if they are loose.....they should be fine though.

The first rear prototype was too high and the axles wouldnt handle it, so my second prototype should be done today, if it warms up a bit, I'll try and install it all Sunday, gotta work all eday Saturday at the full time gig :(

What happened to the axles, they pull out? Maybe the Rhino axles aren't as good as they are supposed to be.

Any updates? My Gorilla's came today, installing tomorrow.

Rubberdown

I wont install the axles with the c-clips until I get the lift kit height just right, this way I wont have to fight with them to get them out if need be. The laser cut parts where done today but instead of making what I needed, he made a mistake, so hopefully it will all be good tomorrow or at least by Friday, I wanna have it all installed before the hammy gets here Saturday.
