my brother in law has this bike and next month itll be a year old,hes had 2 front ends replaced and one motor rebuild (under warranty)it has 27inch executioners on it,the top ball joints and a-arm bushings are shot,he wanted me 2 get on here and ask why hes had so much trouble with his and he sees people that have 30s on their bikes with no problems.
have anyone on here had this much problems with theirs?

I know a guy around here that had a lot of trouble on his engine, it was leaking and burning oil real bad, he send it to the Kawi dealer at least 3 times, and the third times they completely rebuild the engine from A to Z. And now i think he want to sell it.

I have had problems.. I bought mine used but abused. 30's on a brute will eventually cause trouble. They are okay with 26 or 27's but the bigger the tire the more hurting the axles go through. the more problems with bushings and so on. I have had an axle replacement, ball joint replacement, wheel bearing replacement, now I need another 1 or 2 axles and the front diff is shot. These are things that you need to consider when you ride. The guy that had mine didn't do any maintenance therefore I now am paying for it.
If the bike is setup with all the proper parts then all is well. Bigger tires means bigger expense period. I have also replaced all the rear bushings and now taking the front diff out I see I need the fronts as well. that is my story.....don't do my story..lol

Her's has had 0 engine, tranny, axle or dif problems...

But it's had 4 rear seals (4th one started leaking after a few weeks just like the prior 3) and the front end is shot. The ball joints, A arm bushings are all gone. The front end has more slack in it than anything I've ever seen. It's had/having electrical problems since it was new. It randomly flashes the FI light and temp light when you ride. The fan stopped working a few times and the fan relay wiring has burned up a few times.

We've had 28's on it from just about day 1 and it's not a stranger to mud. She does not ride it like she stole it but she does not putt around either. 99.9% of the people who have motor problems are the ones who wheelie these bikes a lot. The oiling system is a terrible design at best. After about a 20% rise in the front end the oil pickup runs dry and the engine starves for oil. I've seen guys wheelie them and after 2 seconds the oil light comes on and they just keep right on going.

We all know that diff. brands have diff. problems. mudinmyblood.com Is a great place for brute owners. Paul delete this If it breaks any rules. I like my brute and have not had many problems that I did not cause from the way I ride. The oiling does suck for weelies but you can fix it with a catch can mod. Tie rod ends are week, I run 27" tires and have not replaced one yet with over 500 hrs on the clock, I dont weelie tho. You can get stronger after market ones. The oil seals will leak as soon as you ride the first time seems like if you don't wash them off after EVERY ride. I pressure wash mine off and have no problems. These are just my thoughts and I don't have many. LOL

The problem with the rear seal is if you fill the oil to the "full" mark on the dipstick it will leak right away's I try to keep mine just below full you will have no problem, I am doing my first one right now at 300hrs. I have almost 4800km's and have yet to do a tie rod or ball joint, I have been running 28's for some time now and have had no problems at all and I don't baby it at all. I love my Brute and will not hesitate to buy another one when the time comes.

mine has spent 98% of 2010 getting s*@t fixed, replaced or modified! Bought it used ( HUGE mistake ) and since i got it back from Paul after the Brute lift, ( march! ) I have ridden for no more than 3 hrs. took it to a mechanic, who then pawned it off ( a month later ) on a new mechanic that he heard was "pretty good" HA! the guy was a hack at best and took him about a month n a half to do a top end.......POORLY! Finally it is now at MY mechanic and is on the home stretch, so....ya....um....not a really good experience so far. I've DUMPED 3 grand into this damn thing this year alone ( i've owned it a year and don't ride the snow....so not much ride time) They are incredible machines ( after they are modded ):yell: sorry bout the novel.

I have close to 300 hrs on mine and I have replaced 2 front cv boots, and my fan stopped working about a yr ago, that was fixed under warranty, and I have replaced my 2 upper a arm bushings, all my a arms now have grease zerks on them, have not had a problem since, and I have to replace my front and rear drive seals. This is all I have done to mine for repairs, the stuff I get into while riding is not nice and I giv'er sh@t when riding. The stock tie rods are cheap and will snap very easy with over sized skins on them,so this is one upgrade that i think guys should do to their Brutes if they are going to up grade their skins.
