im in paducah ky. some good riding near me but trying to find some new places to ride during the cold months. we do alotta creek riding in the summer... stick to trails mainly in winter. and muddin' ofcourse

Ok, not too far away from me at all.
Yeah I love creek riding too, and as the summer went on I was getting deeper and deeper each time. Finally learned how to do water wheelies, and what a rush those are!
I need to find some new spots also this winter. My favorite place (near Quincy) is ok, but I'd like to find somewhere I've never been before.
But I won't be riding until probably in Feb because after the holidays I'll be tearing into my bike to relocate the radiator and putting in snorks.

yeah. i need to put snorkles on mine too.. just not wantin to cut into my box really. i've had it really deep quite often and had no problems YET.. but will be needin it soon if i'm gonna keep ridin the way we been...

Have you considered running them into your pod so you don't have to cut into the box?

well, they're already in the pod really aren't they? for the air and the cvt..?? i've seen some that make an aftermarket air box lid that will attach to snorkel, but to get that you'd have to buy the whole package. be payin well over a hundred dollars for some simple hoses and clamps really.. i just couldn't see myself payin that for an air box lid...
and if i was gonna run snorks i'd want 'em up high, higher than
the pod ya' know..

Well almost that high. In the pod would give you something like 6" more. Right now they end up near the fuel cap, and the vent lines are close to the fuze box/radiator cap. I can't see spending the $ on the "stealth" kit either that Triangle is now selling.
I haven't really thought about a new airbox yet. Mine is sealed shut with RTV and haven't had any problems with water getting in. But maybe I should look into it after the new snorks are installed because I know I'll be goin a lot deeper eventually.

Oh yeah. I took the wife out on Saturday to try out the new popos new shoes and to try and chase up some deer. Other than that I was on it all day on Friday and even on Friday night. I just wish the ice was solid enough to head out on for a bar run.

So far I'm liking them. The bike overall seems alot stroger and really sets you back when you punch it. The clutch kit and tires were well worth the money. Best mods I've done so far.

The only real good area I have available is near Quincy, and with gas prices the way they are, I haven't been there too many times this year, and would love a closer place to play at.

All the riding here is great.. There are hard spots and simple ways around them..
Plenty of flat land, plenty of creek, plenty of mud.. a sweet pond and a great hills.. Hills scare me abit.. but i like these alot... very clean family fun..Well, dirty fun..
i take my wife and young son here all the time just to get out... you will not be disapointed..

the best part about this if you dont want to get in the deep stuff, you dont have too.. if you dont wanna get wet, or muddy you dont have too.. if you dont want to ride the hills you dont have too...

AND ITS FREE!!!

Weird about a great place like this?

I'm 43, and Desi is 45. I just got off the phone with her about this Sunday and she's up for it. I just gotta take her out before this and get her rigged up with some good riding gear.
Not sure if she needs a full set of waders like I have, or just some good boots and coveralls & coat, but she'll be good to go by the time we hit the road.

Also told her about the possibilities of other gals being there and she liked that a lot, so this is turning out to be quite the good thing in the works here. :)

I just don't go fast, or tear around the trails whipping around trees like some other UTE drivers do around here.
Oh, and be prepared to have some tunes crankin from the pipe!

I'm leaving here sometime on Tuesday the 1st. Staying for a few hours at a friends house in Festus, MO, and leaving there around midnite which will bring me to the park sometime Wednesday morning.
Then I'm not leaving until sometime on Sunday.

I got my springs and hand warmers from Tim yesterday. I put everything on last night and drove around my neigborhood..... WOW!!! Those MV7 springs are perfect and it even brought the front end up like Tims bike with the Ranger springs.

Now I'm pushing her even harder to go riding so I can see how those new springs are on the trails.

you will go over a few hills and take a FIRST LEFT after the FS station ( Farmers stuff )

This will take you into the Huge city of Gilson, i am the last house on the left before the train tracks..

I own all the land from the tracks to my house..You should see the mud pit and jumps so it wont behard to miss...

creeks. we've got a good one we ride in the summer. its bout 35 miles or so long from where we put in at then it goes into a BIGGER creek that is all water and a good amount of current... last year on any given weekend especially sundays there was over 130 people. one of the local farmers lets everybody park at his place and put in right there. it's pretty cool for wat the little town of LOWES is...

It is man... My brother lives right down the road from there so I usually park at his place and ride the quad to the creek... Jimmy is cool for letting everyone park there... He's got a BIG ole' field that he let's everyone park at.. some of them will end up MESSING it up though... Going through there cutting up and tearing up the yard.... Some people just don't know how to act.. Then you got the ones that a few miles down the creek wanna come outta it which is ok till they start tearin' up the crops and stuff... Just riding straight through it not caring one bit. Not realizing that is what is gonna stop the creek rides down there....

But either way, you should go with marine grade bilge or exhaust hose.
Sure some folks use the cheaper spa hose, but why take the risk of getting it punctured by using cheaper materials on our pricey bikes?

Got to check out the TIRES yesterday.. I think they'll do great... I still gotta put the other trail tires on the other set of rims.. They'll do good on just bout anything It looks like to me... Probably use them in the CREEK most of the time... I think those 589's might dig me down preety good there....
Those trail's are a MAXXIS tire.... They look pretty nice I think
