For some of us that get bored at work and want to chat with other people without containing ourselves to a specific topic and without hijacking other threads, I've started this thread.
What's anyone doin today?

I would be building Motor contol panels. Just like I've been doing for 20 years. Also get bored of drilling holes and wiring stuff. Just for a party mixer I bend conduit around impossible situations. And to top it off I get to pull my wire. LOL.

Just like I've been doing for 20 years.
I'm pushing 20 years here at the same job.Sometimes it's so routine I swear I can do it with my eyes shut.I'm at a crossroads of sorts right now with work.If I stay another 10 years and complete a full 30 years of service I can retire from here and start collection right away.If I leave now I wont be able to collect a dime until i'm 62 or whatever the age for retirement will be by then.As of now I plan on sticking it out here unless I can manage to sell my house in this dead real estate market and take the money and leave florida altogether. But it looks like i'll have to ride out the real estate market and wait it out a few years.Wait for it to rebound if I dont want to take a beating on the selling price. My wife and I both agree that if someone offered us what we wanted for our place tomorrow we be packing as soon as the closing went through

It's funny how things turn out. I started my working life out as a Refridgeration mechanic for trucks and trailers. Was a trailer mechanic, big rig mechanic, lift truck mechanic, small engine, cars etc. Life changed when I got hurt at work and went to collage. I got picked up by a control company and here I am. Playin' with electricity LOL

But with the snow we got yesterday, 3 people didn't show up here as planned, so I might not be here for too long. Told Desi to stick around and keep the bed warm as I might be back soon.
Steve knew you were going to be out of town bud...he did ask about you a couple weeks ago when he first mentioned the party.

it's ok dude, I don't have a hissy fit if someone doesn't want to play with me. I've grown out of that phase. Good that u might get to go home early, sucks that u don't get paid if you do.
Last night was slow at stone country, the weather kept a lot of people away, which sucked since it was their big christmas party. all the cute girls came with guys, unfortunately.
Rebel64
12-16-2007, 12:00 PM
I was wondering if you ventured over there last nite...too bad it was so slow and there was no single women.
I left work after being there for an hour since there was absolutely nothing to do. The good thing about it though was that I got paid for 4 hours...at double time.
Came home, woke Desi up (woohooo), and then slept for a couple more hours. Not a bad day at all so far!! :) We're going shopping sometime this afternoon, and I think I'll take her up to Gander Mntn to get her set up with some good cold weather gear.

Oh yeah, I'm sure he'll be paying me back somehow one of these days. Actually he'll probably come up with something to trip me up next month when we start the rad relocate/snork project on my bike.
BIG_T
12-21-2007, 06:03 PM
I got it unlocked, except unlocking it without the key somehow tripped the security system on it, so it won't start. I called the GM dealer and they told me something that "might" work, but if it doesn't I'll have to tow it in (about 30 miles) then they'll have to reset it, and that's just if it didn't blow the security module, which they say it sometimes does, and that would cost about 300 bucks.
So far this trip is gonna cost me about 500 bucks on fuel and hotel, and that doesn't count my dad's damage to my truck by locking the keys in it.
you seriously have no idea how pissed I am right now. I'm serious mark, you've never seen me anywhere this pissed, not even during the mudgrippers debacle of 2007.

We all get to that "Beyond pissed zone" I know what you mean, sometimes anything not bolted down is in danger of becoming a "flying weapon".I go there too...sometimes I have talk "logical thinking" back in to my head and I cant always convince myself to come off the pissed off trip.

I had to get it towed back to St. Paul, MN where the nearest AAMCO shop was, an they will rebuild it again. I had to rent a car, then drove back here to illinois, and then I will go up to the cities this coming weekend to pick my truck back up.

On the drive back down here in the rental car there was a car in the ditch, o I slowed down to avoid the people on the shoulder of the road. As I was doing that my rear wheels got caught in a rut in the snow, started spinning me around. I made 4 complete revolutions at 50 mph before I got i back under control on the shoulder of the road, stopped in the same direction I was headed. I hit the gas and was back on my way before the cars behind me caught up. Since nothing bad happened, it was kinda fun.
