I've been out for 2.5 years now. I loved math. The thing I miss the most from college is tutoring in calculus and physics.

I am STILL in College at 50 yrs old...in my 30th semester and I am majoring in hard knocks :bounce:
I originally attended Murphy university :tongue1:
Seriously, I am somewhat envious of of those fortunate enough to have attended college :hail:
I have a 10th grade education because I DESPERATLY needed to get away from an alchaolic family and went to work full time in a lumber yard as soon as I got my drivers licence at 16---was working there part-time since I was 14-- {back in the days when you do that sort of stuff} so I could get out on my own and away from the drama ......
I suppose you can say that I am a manipulative learner.

I loved math in high school. Right know, Math with business applications standard deviations and that kind of crap. Geonc If this helps at all, I lost a lot of repect for those with degrees. Most of the kid, yes , kids don't give a crap, they never show up for class. They never have the assignments done. I complete everthing on time. They take the make-up after the answers are handed out. Down right cheating when they show up most don't amd they will have the same degree as me when it is all done. They will be likley hired by a company because they can be molded into the employees they want . I am to old and alot less plyable. I won't be going into the workforce after graduation. I own my own business, so I am only doing this for myself. But there are other adults in class that won't get the upperhand on the young kids that don't deserve a degree. It is just handed to them. What ever happened to haveing to work for something????????????????????

I need to get back to school one of these days. Started off at the Community College of the Air Force, then got out.
Xfered credits over to the University of Phoenix (online) in the IT program, but decided that wasn't for me. Xfered again over to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical College in the Logistics program (online again), but have yet to take any courses.
This doesnt count but I work on a college campus.

My questionis do you feel your degree benefitted you? or would you have been able to get where you are today, without the degree?

well, considering that 2 years out of college I'm making what some others are making after working at a place for 20 years, I'd say my degree definitely helped me. But, besides the money aspect, it gives me much more flexibility as to getting the job I want. A college degree is a must in this time, and it doesn't matter as much what its in.
I don't think about it everytime I use something from college, but when I do sit and think about it (like when someone asks) it's not the facts and numbers that I use everyday, it's the thought process. And yes, I do use a lot of the equations that I learned in college, but not all of them by any means.
