This is the only pic that you can kinda see the trailer, it's realy just a sled trailer with ramps hinged to the side, it's a little tight with two full size 4X4s but I can stick it anywhere. My other "toy hauler" is a little more of a custom fit. lol

I would really like a true toy hauler , either a pop -up with the 4 wheelers front and rear or an enclosed one but at upwrds of $20k :twitch:.....

I just use my 16'flatbed that I modified to remove the right front side rail for laoding ....and it still works fine for hauling lumber, firewood, the occasionall vehicle, tractors etc.....yea-both axles have brakes :whoo:

Here's a pic ...loaded for a weekend of camping and mudd at Busco Beach ..

nice..only thing is you could get nailed for only 1 strap on the front... supposed to be 2 so if a cop wants to be funny. How are tear tire straps working out? I still have to grab some.

HA HA its funny you say that. I just put a new decking on it I made this frame out of 2x4 as appose to the old one using 2x6. I'm taking the old frame to the cottage and making a dock out of it.

As to the straps they work GREAT I have turned them around since that pic was taken I now have the ratchet behind the front wheel and in front of the rear wheels. I had multipliable cops pass me going to Quebec and I got a lot of looks but that was all. The way I look at it is each strap is good for 3500lbs as appose the the 500lbs straps I had before.

Great idea with the deck on the boat trailer. But whats that axle rated for? I'd be worried about it being good for 3000lbs worth of quads plus the weight of the trailer. Boats are pretty light.

propsR4boats
05-13-2011, 07:27 AM
Its our 20' Pontoon boat trailer. The axle is rated to 3000lbs. The only problem we have with it is the axle is too far back. We are currently talking about moving it forward and adding an other axle.

stricker76
05-14-2011, 11:01 AM
Sweet, i didn't think they would be rated for that much. What about just putting another axle in front of that one?

propsR4boats
05-15-2011, 02:32 PM
If we just add and axle I think the tung load is still heaver the I want it .
