NIce setup man, your gonna need to vent the gas tank for sure. I have three vent tubes I think, one for the motor and I think the others go to the gas tank.

How do you vent the gas tank ??

Pop your seat off and remove the heat shield. You will see a vent line that 'Y's ( 1 into 2 ). One goes in the frame and the other one has an end on it. I just got rid of the Y and ran one up to the pod with a couple of loops.

I have heard that you will lose performance from the CVT heat being drawn into the engine intake. The CVT creates a lot of hot air (and not always very clean) which will be sucked directly into the air box if all the snorkels are under the pod.

Make sure you put heat wrap ( I used header wrap and heat reflective tape ) the exhaust for the CVT. It is VERY close to the back header pipe. You will also want some sort of wrap on roughly the first 6 inches of the CVT intake. There is a lot of radiant heat there as well.

There is also a vent line on top of the transmission. You will also need to bring that up to the pod.

You may want to tune your bike afterwards. Most guys run 2" pipe for the engine intake. You may not get enough air.

WOW.......

SO I SHOULD CHANGE THE ENGINE INTAKE TO 2"

and run the vent lines up to the speedo pod aswell ? what about the engine vent lint to the airbox and the trans vent ?

Personally, I would unless you have a tuner handy. JMO.

Ya, run the vent lines up to the speedo as well and coil them up in a couple of loops. I haven't moved my engine vent in the air box yet, but I am going to.

ok, the intake setup was not to bad to work on.. 2" it is.

what size/type of hose would be good for the vent lines for the g/tank and engine.?

I believe the stuff I used was 3/8.

is that the 3/8 fuel line stuff at Canadian tire or princess auto ?

Ya, just clear fuel line or aquarium line.

How water tight is your CVT cover? Have you had it deep enough to see if it leaks?

once i get all the piping done i will take it dwon to the boat launch and play in the water a bit.

if the cvt cover does leak, whats the recommended fix ?

Open it up, remove both the primary and the secondary, remove the back plate and silicone in behind where the gaskets are.

Some do some don't from what I've seen Sometimes its the case itself. I've seen the rubber boot pinched from the factory!

You can use Header Heat Wrap. Can buy a roll of it from any performance shop. Or the Thick heat tape that has fiberglass in it.

You will not have to tune the bike.

You may not have to TUNE the bike , but it is very highly recommended.. Anytime you change the air in or out you will most likely need to adjust the fuel!!!!

Alot of the older model cvt covers did leak due to being warped. I believe there was a service bulletin about it a while back.
They replaced my buddies 06 model.
